MAYTAG MDB4949SKW built in dishwasher

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dishwasher last month and installed it. It works very well and is quiet. It has three cycles and high temp and sanitary rinse. I have used all three cycles and they all worked very well. I really like the controls on the front panel and not on top of the door like the GE dishwasher I replaced. So far very happy with my purchase. Thanks Maytag!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good. Very quiet and appears to do the job well. If I have one complaint it would be regarding the silverware collector. It's on the side of the bottom rack and cannot be moved to the front. In order to put silverware into the machine you need to pull out the bottom rack (except for the very front of the collector)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher is very quiet and cleans dishes well on Normal, even without pre-rinsing. It also has lots of vertical space for both racks. The only thing that keeps this from being a 5-star review is that I hate the color of stainless steel and dark grey, especially since they make the interior very dark, which makes it hard to see some items inside; I really miss the white interior of my prior dishwasher!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had my dishwasher for about 2 months now. After going without a dishwasher my entire life I was super excited to get one. Love the way my machine washes, noise level, ease of operation.......but I hate the racks! All prongs tilted strangley. Plates won't stand always falling together, all prongs angled weirdly....it's a nightmare to get things in rack. It's like playing Jenga :( Poor design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the dishwasher about two months ago. Overall, the cleaning is satisfactory. The thing that I am disappointed in is that the bottom rack does not hold the dishware very efficiently. There is a large gap down the middle of the rack and it is not possible to stack plates there. Also, the spikes that stick up from the rack are not slanted at all, so the plates and dishes fall over when I try to place them in the rack. I wish that the spikes had been placed on a slant. I'm worried that some the dishes will break when I place them in the bottom rack.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The washer works pretty well, but not nearly as well as my very old Maytag. Dishes would end up squeaky clean and bone dry with my old washer using just the normal wash cycle; not so much with my new one, unless I always use the extra hot water cycle and extra long dry cycle. Also, my old washer only required detergent, not detergent AND rinse aid. Without the rinse aid, the dishes always end up with drops of water all over them.

Really disappointed with this dishwasher, at least 2,3, or 4 dishes in each load are not clean, whether its a quick setting or normal ( which is 2.5 hrs!) There are always dishes that are not clean.. My old LG was alot more dependable..

Less than 1.5 years old and getting error code and out of warranty Second Maytag dishwasher in 6 years, just garbage! Not the Maytag I grew up with

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product will likely last as long as the previous one which was maytag and which lasted less than a year. It's loud and quite often we are left with food stuck on the bowls even though they have been rinsed. Try and get this fixed though and you get the usual runaround from Maytag--the repair person may or may not show up, the parts won't be in, once the part is installed it's the wrong one or it still doesn't work. Eventually you just give up and get a new applicance. This has also happened with the maytag washer and I dryer I have which are complete pieces of crap.
