MAYTAG MVW4505MW TRADITIONAL TOP LOAD WASHER White

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Replaced an expensive/useless LG with a washer that cleans. Very simple to use without all the expensive features ie wifi that no one uses. It cleans like a washer should - period.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) The washer was purchased to replace a 12 year old Maytag washer with a failing transmission. The old unit was a Bravos XL series. I believe that previous unit was higher grade level than the new unit. I do miss the count down timer feature. I also didn't want another washer without an agitator.

My machine before this was a GE and it only lasted two and a half years. I live alone so it doesn't get overly used. I find it very loud during operation.

The only feature that I don't like and the reason for a 3 is the liquid dispensing - putting it directly in the washer with my cloths isn't optimal. There should be an added drawer for dispensing detergent that gets mixed with water right away.

Bought this washer and nothing but problems , keep breaking down and its always sensor issues. Would not recommend at all

It lasted about 2 years and died. It worked great while it lasted. To get it repaired I have to ship it out, pay for repairs and ship it back on my dime.

Very disappointed in this washing machine. It constantly shuts itself off during spin cycles (while clothing still wet) and then senses the clothing is too heavy due to being water logged to continue. I end up having to wring out all of my clothing in the wash sink and start the load over again. Complete waste of money, water, and detergent. The construction is flimsy and the child lock is frustrating. Do not buy. My old washing machine lasted over 30 years, but this new washing machine cannot even complete a regular wash load.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We are very displeased with our new Maytag top loader washing machine. Our previous Maytag was a real workhorse; efficient and very user friendly. We had it for decades. Here are the reasons that we dislike our current model (MVW4505MW): 1. The lid lock function is extremely frustrating. Maybe there is a way to override it but we have yet to discover it. As new owners we would like to eyeball the different water levels to ascertain the machines various capabilities. We can't do that. There are times we would like to add items to a load after the machine has started. We can't do that. We assume the locking lid is a child safety feature but we have no kids. And if there are kids in a household, it's only very young ones who might be at risk. So your lid lock function is serving only a small percentage of the population - and frustrating the rest of us. 2. The machine is noisy; plain and simple. Our Maytag from the 1990s was quieter. 3. This model makes a bizarre, annoying, mechanical buzz-like sound when the agitator is in action. At least, that's how we are interpreting it because we can't peek inside to to see what's happening because of the lid lock. 4. We can't figure out an easy way to do a warm wash/cold rinse. 5. Most of the washing cycles seem longer than those of our previous machine. We would like a reply to our survey response. We will be visiting our local retailer to see what they say about the machine and what are options are for obtaining something we like.

I have had this washer for over a year now, so this is not a "I haven't figured out how to use this" review. I bought it, without hesitation or reservation, to replace my last Maytag top-load washer (which I adored). This useless machine CANNOT GET YOUR CLOTHES CLEAN. It can't get any light stains out. Clothes don't smell clean. Towels are crunchy. Stains remain. Simple, clean loads of laundry are impossible for this washer to achieve. If an item has any dirt, small food stain, smear - forget pulling it out clean after a "washing." My 15 year old washer was doing a better job before it broke! (Keep in mind, I live in the same house with the same usage, products, water hardness, clothes, etc.) And don't think I haven't tried every online hack, read the manual, watched the videos: less detergent, vinegar rinses, baking soda, pods, powders, liquids...it's not the products (which I had been using for years with my previous washer). It's this washer. If you want an he, get a front-load. An he top load simply cannot get your clothes clean by spraying water while the wet clothes spin around on the bottom. And omg don't even get me started with the wrinkles! Again, because the clothes just spin in a centrifuge, cottons and natural fibers get so creased, even drying doesn't get them out on thinner fabrics. I would rather use a LAUNDROMAT than this washer, I literally hate this washer with every fiber in my being.
