Mayview Barrett 85" Upholstered Wood Base Sofa, Cream

I spent months, MONTHS, searching for the exact right couch for my apartment. This couch checked all the boxes: beige, modern design, under $800, long enough to seat 3 people, and comfortable yet supportive. I also like that the seat and back cushions are reversible in case of stains or damage from pets. After waiting eagerly for the Oat color to come back in stock, I placed the order on a Sunday and it arrived by Thursday morning. Assembly was easy to do with two people but you could definitely do it on your own with a little patience. Important note: The couch is tall. I didn't want a couch that I would struggle to get out of like a cloud-style couch, so this was a perfect fit for me and my tall husband. The legs just screw into the base so if you want to make it shorter, you might be able to swap them out with a third-party option. This couch is an absolute steal at $635 (and the gray color is often on sale for cheaper). If you want a clean design for cheap without compromising on quality, this is for you!

Love, love, love this couch! Love the color and how super comfy it is. I wasn’t expecting it to be as thick and big as it is, but makes me think the cushions will last a long time then. The zipper ended up not being as difficult as others were stating in their reviews, no issues for me at all. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful and very well made sofa! It came in two large boxes that were delivered on the same day. I’m a small person, so I did have to enlist some help with attaching the back to the base, but aside from that, it was incredibly easy to assemble. It’s very comfortable and large enough for two grown people to very easily stretch out at the same time. 10/10 would recommend!

Was hesitant to purchase with very few reviews but these couches are GREAT quality! You should expect some assembly. They arrive in two big boxes. Assembly takes about 30 minutes and I was able to do it on my own. Zipping up was a challenge as other mentioned but it eventually came together. Quality exceeded expectations however. If you’re on the fence, I think you’ll be happy with your purchase!

It’s a great modern style couch for the price. The couch is fairly comfortable but may not be as comfy for tall 5’ 10” or people heavier than 175 lbs. The upholstery is a weave of medium and light gray strands. The seat is a medium firmness and appreciate the taller back. The best part is that you don’t need any tools to assemble it. That said, I rated it 4 instead of 5 because there were a couple broken pieces. There are plastic knob casings on the screws that were shattered. Thankfully we were still able to put them in with a screw driver. The second piece that was broken was one of the middle leg bases. We used wood glue to reattached it so that we could screw the leg in. We figured it would be easier to repair it than deal with the hassle of returning it. Lastly, the upholstery is suppose to zip together. There was one piece that we were unable to zip because the upholstery was not sewn properly. Because this was on the back of the couch and we pushed it up against the wall, we are just going to live with it. The broken pieces could have been due to the shipper. The upholstery is due to the manufacturer.

I really like the cream color, the two pillows it comes with, and wood base color, just like photos. It is also moderately comfy. The material is not the smoothest but still pleasant. I did not like that it came with small rips. I also didnt like how tall the seating of the couch is. I am 5'6" and for some reason my feet barely touch the ground which i thought was kind of odd. Might cut down the legs to make it shorter other than that good couch.

At first I thought this couch to be a beautiful affordable option. But over the past 5 months it’s completely falling apart. The material is pilling, the cushions sagging and uncomfortable, and the armrests are bowing out. I regret this purchase and will soon have to replace this after not even a year of use.

Only Box 1 of 2 was delivered. Box was extremely distressed (see pictures), as well as the ends retaped in a very crude fashion. I immediately complained about the condition of the box, but was told "That's the way it was put on the truck." Driver left abruptly. The rips in the cardboard box were primarily on the sides of the package; they were completely through the cardboard and the entire width of the box rendering the contents (a fabric couch) susceptible to the elements as well as dirt and filth. Very disappointing.

I purchased this couch ~8 months ago. I am one person who lives in a single apartment alone. I LOVED the couch initially. Comfortable. Easy to put together. HOWEVER, it has worn TERRIBLY. It has pilled and the cushions are simply falling apart. I am under the 1 year warranty and Walmart/GAP do not want to do anything about it. I call Walmart customer service who directs me to Gap who then directs me back to Walmart. The warranty is a SCAM. If you purchase buyer be aware!! Would give negative stars if I could. How sad for a couch I loved so much.

I ordered this couch on January 4th and received half of it on January 15th and the other half Jan 21st. Once the arms, pillows and such arrived on the 21st it was missing a zipper, and Holes in the arm to attach the screws in. I am super disappointed because I waited for the couch and for the price you would think it was better. I am returning it and getting a refund.
