Absolutely LOVE these. Just as good if not better at most restaurants nowadays. I love them just a little extra crispy. It seems to bring the slightly sweeter flavor of the onions contrast with the (for lack of better word right now) stronger more bold flavors of the beer batter. It gives a perfect combination and balance of each. When I say the onions are sweet, I don't mean overwhelming or anything like that. Just a pleasant soft yet noticable. Especially bc of the "slightly tart" of the beer batter. I also don't mean "sour" when I say tart. It's just more of the mild taste of "cooked" beer. Kinda hint of the beer but not the boldness as if you were tasting a glass of beer. Just a REALLY good home onion ring with steakhouse quality taste, cut, and look. The thickness helps whether you like ketchup or a nice thick dip. Cooking time is next to nothing also.
These are absolutely delicious! I add a tiny bit more salt/pepper while they are in the air fryer. They cook so quickly and they actually get crispy in the air fryer. They are the perfect appetizer or side for burgers, hot dogs, etc.
I Deep fried them. They would have been perfect if the onion slices were thicker. But, I still thought they were real good. I really liked the batter, a kinda tempura style. Still, lots of the onions were no thicker than shoestring fries.
Tasted great, but they were all different thicknesses, so they didn't bake evenly. I had to keep pulling them out as they got cooked so they wouldn't burn.
How hard is it to make frozen onion rings with a little flavor in the batter? Nathan's manages to do it, these don't. I had to add salt, and dip in ketchup. No flavor in this batter at all. The onion part was good, now add FLAVOR to the batter! I can buy Great Value if I want tasteless. These are overpriced
Taste is ~ OK. Texture poor, not a "battered" coating, what little "breaded?" coating there is soaks up oil better than the oil dry we use down to the shop. Better off to buy a bag Drakes Batter Mix and make your own. If all you want is to empty the bag on to a sheet tray and into the over or air fryer these will do in a pinch. But these are far and away, NOT, real beer "battered" deep fried onion rings. Oh, and plenty of chemistry going on in the ingredients list as well.
i only 9 rings in that bag- how horrible is that and i could of bought great value n get 25 rings - for a lower price yes they were good and i eat them all but my family didnt get anything the serving size says 5 how are we suppose yo give each family member 2 onion rings this was pathetic
These were just sad and flavorless. Batter was a big nothing and couldnt taste the onion. Tasted like fried air mass. Baking required turning over multiple times amd extended time to get crispy. After trying a few, we decided to throw all these in trash.
This bag had lots of rings that had no onion in them whatsoever or very thin and not the juicy onion texture that should be inside the crispy shell of the ring. These were not very good at all and a huge disappointment. mccains fries are always great and never disappoint but these i cannot and do not recommend if this is the quality that will be produced going forward. waste of money for the 2 bags i purchased.
Sorry but I will not purchase these again. 3 large onion rings and 5 small, really small onion rings. Package said 6 servings. That means 1 large and 1-2 small per person.
