Taste amazing! IDK how to describe it adequately. Does not tast like black pepper. It is mildly hot. Unique pepper flavor. Grinder is easy to use, can be adjusted from fine to coarse grade, and the cap has a tab that makes it easy to get off. Excellent design and spice.
First, Phu Quoc pepper is one of the most coveted peppercorn varieties in the world and is grown on a small island in Vietnam, hand picked and air dried. These are the black variety and are very delicious, definitely distinct from regular peppercorns. I would, however, love to see a red Phu Quoc peppercorn option from McCormick as the red is supposed to be even richer and more peppery. The grater quality is top notch btw, and you can re-use the jar and refill it with replacement peppercorns of your choosing which is a huge plus and ads a bit of value. All the McCormick graters (pepper) are reusable that I've found. Use this pepper on the same things you would use any other pepper, but have a richer experience!
Very flavorful and potent
I never knew black pepper could be more than just peppery. This has an almost sweetness to it that I love too much to use regular pepper again. Great on sandwiches, in soups, eggs, anything that's peppered!
Hand Grown on a distant Island, it takes 3 years to produce and sun-dry 1 crop of this extraordinary peppercorn. The fragrance is awe inspiring, the bite is original and unique. I am very happy with it. Well Worth trying this.
Organic McCormick Gourmet are the best tasting
This has a nice flavor, a bit more spice than traditional black pepper. The whole pepper corns require slightly more effort to grind.
Hubby and I love the flavor of this pepper in our breakfast omelette! Add a bit of curry and dulce flakes and it just does the trick! Boy it came fast too! Thanks!
It was nothing special. It says it is bold, but was not even as strong as Watkins pre ground pepper. This might be because it was set to expire in April of this year. (I purchased shipping.) Which means it is quite old since pepper is usually good for a few years. I couldn't recommend it since it had little flavor. Also the grinder was not adjustable, and only grinds very coarse. If you are going to try it, only buy it in store so you can check the expiry date.
I thought the flavor of this pepper would be more intense. I’ve had this pepper from this island before, and it was more intense. I don’t know why this doesn’t have that stronger flavor. I think they taste a little bit better because they’re crisp.
