I cook a lot of Asian style dishes and some recipes do call for ginger so this was great addition to my spice rack. I have used the ground ginger in a few stir fry dishes and in a soup. Just yesterday I whipped up a noodle dish and added about ½ a tablespoon of the ground ginger to the dish. It gave the stir fry noodle dish a more favorable taste and it smelled great! I have added a few tablespoons of the ground ginger in my rice noodle soup broths and people have commented on how good the broth smells and tastes. I would definitely recommend when it comes to cooking Asian style dishes!
This grounded ginger is great for soup and tea. The bottle says it is also good for gingerbread and spice cookies. The taste is very spicy even with just a pinky size amount. The smell is very potent and a teaspoon full gives an extra bit to my tea. The color is very bright yellow and looks concentrated. I like the packaging of the dispenser. It looks like McCormick brand is making their spices more elegant with glass container and a filtered cap. I would recommend this product to a friend because I think it is very nicely packaged and the ginger is good quality.
One of my favorite meals – Hawaiian Chicken – either grilled outside or broiled inside. Marinade over night with Great Value Teriyaki and Soy Sauce with the best ginger on the market – McCormick ginger. Finish with French cut green beans with almonds. Alessi Dipping Spices are added to the beans. McCormick and Great Value – an unbeatable combination.
I love, love, love the McCormick Gourmet Collection Ground Ginger! It is fabulous and can be used in so many ways. I sprinkled some over steamed vegetables, put it in a white sauce that came out spectacular, put some in iced tea or can be used in hot tea as well. It is so versatile that you will find it brings out the flavor of the food or drinks you use it in. It can also be sprinkled on fruit and over whipped cream for that extra ginger taste. It is fresh tasting and in the powder form, is perfect for just about anything your imagination can come up with to use. Great in shakes too for the summer heat. I highly recommend it and will buy again and again. One more thing I really love about McCormick, it comes in a glass bottle that can be recycled.
We love the McCormick brand and the great price!
This is great. You can sprinkle in tea
I had never used Ginger for anything before I seen a recipe that called for it and I didn't have any in my cupboard. I love the flavoring that the McCormick Gourmet Ground Ginger adds to a specailty drink that I have a recipe for. I recommend this product to anyone who reads this. It gives things an interesting taste.
I love experimenting with spices. Getting McCormick Gourmet Collection Ground Ginger gave me some great new ideas for using ginger. I had never used it on fish before but I sprinkled a little on my sandwich and was delightfully surprised! I'm doing research on the web to find even more unusual and creative recipes. I also used a little in my tea. I wasn't sure if I had to find a special type of ginger to make the tea, but this worked and it tasted great! If you like to experiment and create your own dishes then you need to try ginger. The McCormick name is the best of the spice companies in my view!
Spice received through the spark reviewer program so the price is not known to me. I have seen some ginger that is 6 plus dollars though. the ginger has a nice hot taste so go light with it in your dishes. I like it on salmon with an orange sauce. 2 table spoons syrup of your choice 2 tables lemon or orange zest orange juice enough to cover the fish. salt and pepper to taste 1 tsp paprika 1/2 to 1 tsp of ginger according if you like it hot or not. mix all ingredients then pour over salmon filets bake in 400 degree oven till tender there is a good quantity in the jar. I really have never had any problems with the mccormick brand. they keep well. I love the lids with the shake or spoon option.
