McCormick Gourmet? Ground Nutmeg 1.81 oz. Shaker

I had great fun with this nutmeg, of course I baked with it, but I also added it to my jerk for pork and chicken. I'm going to begin with Baking. I made my favorite pumpkin recipe, Pumpkin, cranberry, walnut bread. This is something that is everyone favorite goodie. I used the McCormick nutmeg in place of the product I usually use. The flavor was amazing as if I had ground the nutmeg myself. The smell was enticing again like fresh ground nutmeg. The bread came out wonderful, and as always everyone was asking for seconds. The second thing I used this product in was homemade rub for chicken and pork that was left overnight with the rub on it and grilled the next day. I had never used nutmeg in my rubs before but it was a suggestion on the bottle so I gave it a try. I cleaned and prepared the meat and made sure the rub covered the entire surface of the meat, covered everything and put in frig till the following afternoon. I didn't tell anyone that I tried something different. The meat was OUTSTANDING! tender, juicy, and full of flavor. There were no leftovers. From now on I will always use McCormick's nutmeg in my rubs.

Have you ever tried to grind a nutmeg? Awful. McCormick ground nutmeg is the perfect consistency, has a real fresh flavor and beats trying to grind them yourself. It hydrates well, and the flavor comes out in just the right amount. Nutmegs vary in quality depending on where they are grown. These are more on the strong side which is nice when you want a lot of flavor and nice to not have to use a lot. That saves you money!

McCormick may be a little more pricey than some spices that you can buy for $1 but the quality and potency is well worth it. The label says "gourmet" and it is "the next level" of spice. Yum! My only wish is that the bottle was unbreakable since the only space I have in my kitchen for spices is in an upper cabinet. I'm afraid if the bottle falls, it will fall into the sink, or onto the floor and break. Maybe there is a reason for McCormick choosing glass instead of metal or plastic? Growing up, I can remember McCormick spices coming in rectangular "tins". The glass is pretty, but I wish they would return to the tins. It would also protect the spice from light.

The McCormick Gourmet Herbs Ground Nutmeg, 1.81 oz came exactly as pictured. The glass container is attractive and looks good with my other spices I have in my spice rack. McCormick is a name I have always trusted when it comes to spices, gravies, seasonings, etc. The quality is unmatched. I've used to it make pumpkin bread and it blended well in my recipe and was given "thumbs up" by all who ate it :) The suggestions for use that McCormick includes on their bottles are greatly appreciated. It definitely gives you options you may have never thought of before.

I tried the nutmeg I received and it was lovely in taste. I used it in my homemade doughnuts and everyone loved the nutmeg taste and smell of the nutmeg. I look forward to trying it in and on top of my eggnog recipe that my grandmother gave me. The taste is not over-whelming as some nutmegs I have tried in the past, it is very nice to the palette taste.

McCormick Gourmet Herbs Ground Nutmeg, 1.81 oz. I made homemade eggnog and man was it yummy. I cannot wait to make homemade apple pie. I generally do not buy these types or items but I will be keeping this in the pantry. Yummy.

Nutmeg is so hard to find at grocery stores. McCormick Gourmet Herbs Ground Nutmeg has excellent quality and tasty. I love this McCormick airtight container. I would recommend this to a friend.

I use this spice in flavoring sweet potatoes from the can. It makes the potatoes very tasty along with some sugar and cinnamon. Will recommend this spice to my best friend who loves to bake.

This McCormick gourmet Nutmeg is wonderful on the already delicious sweet potatoes that I prepare but this is better than any other nutmeg I brought its like McCormick just ground it up themselves and shipped it to me!

McCormick's Gourmet Collection ground nutmeg is a flavorful and aromatic nutmeg. I used it on a toast with butter and sugar and it was delightful. It is not overpowering, but a strong, tasty nutmeg. It can be used in any of the traditional recipes that include nutmeg. I will also use in ifruit salads to enhance the flavor of the fruit. It would also be good on a Caesar salad. Though much more flavorful than a cheap nutmeg, it compares in quality to other nutmegs I have used in the past. It does not stand out as the best I have ever tasted. It is described on the label as exotic. I find this a little exaggerated. It is a very good nutmeg however, and I plan on purchasing it in the future.
