I wanted to wait on this review until I could make a couple recipe's. I have never purchased curry powder before, but have always been interested. I love the flavors I've had at restaurants. I used the powder in multiple recipes that included chicken. I thought it worked best with chicken. I plan on using curry powder more often in my cooking now. As this is the only curry powder I have tried I'm giving it 5 stars. I like the idea of using organic spices.
I received this product for free from McCormick in exchange for my honest review. I do not typically purchase spices at the local grocery store—preferring to source them from specialty shops or online spice merchants. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this blend. I used the McCormick Gourmet Organic Curry Powder to prepare chicken curry, and the first thing I noticed was the vibrant fragrance. The flavor profile is well-balanced, providing that authentic warmth you expect from a curry dish. This powder is up to par with the premium spices I usually purchase from the specialty store. I would consider purchasing this line again.
I've tried quite a few curry powders over the years, and McCormick Gourmet™ Organic Curry Powder has quickly become one of my go-to staples. The first thing I noticed is how fresh and vibrant the aroma is when you open the jar—it's warm, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced without being overpowering. The flavor is rich and layered, with just the right blend of spices. It's not too spicy, which makes it really versatile—you can easily adjust the heat level in your dish without the curry powder dominating everything. I've used it in soups, chicken curry, roasted vegetables, and even as a seasoning for rice, and it consistently adds depth and warmth. I also appreciate that it's organic and made without unnecessary additives. You can really taste the quality compared to more generic curry powders. The only small downside is the price point—it's a bit more expensive than standard options—but in my opinion, the flavor and quality make it worth it. Overall, this is a reliable, high-quality curry powder that works well for both beginners and experienced cooks. I'd definitely recommend keeping a jar in your pantry.
This review is a part of free product campaigne from BzzAgentd, but all my opinions are honest and personal. Overall this is a very good product. Pros: 1. Organic without strange additives (very important to me) 2. Strong curry aroma without being overwhelming 3. Add bright yellow color 4. High end packaging Cons: 1. Texture is more coarse compare to other brands I had but it's not a big deal
I seasoned my chicken with this curry powder when making a chicken curry udon and the dish came out great. The curry powder had a great fragrance to it, and it tasted even better! I try and avoid plastics whenever I can, so I love that the curry powder comes in glass. I can't wait to use this more in my daily meals! Would definitely recommend this product, McCormick just makes such solid products you can't go wrong. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
Thanks to McCormick I was able to sample their Organic Curry Powder and I am very impressed. It added warmth and complex flavors to the chicken curry rice casserole that my family loves. The added color was a bonus for presentation. I would definitely buy this product when I need to refill my spice cabinet.
Thanks McCormick for a wonderful jar of Curry powder. It comes in a very attractive jar, the spice coloring looks great and the flavor is very strong. The spice also shakes out easily, no clumping at the shaker holes. This spice really brought my dull lunch to a new level.
** Please note that McCormick sent me a free sample of this product through the BzzAgent sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I had no issues with this Curry powder, overall it gave me what I was looking for in a Curry powder. It has a genuine, well-balanced Curry flavor—not overpowering, but definitely authentic. The heat level is just right: not too hot, but with a nice medium kick that adds depth without overwhelming the dish. You can tell the ingredients are of good quality and natural, which makes a difference. It's a blend of organic spices like coriander, turmeric, and red pepper, and it really comes through in the taste. What stood out most to me is how versatile it is. It worked especially well with chicken, giving it a rich, flavorful profile, but I can see this being great in a variety of dishes. Overall, compared to other similar products on the market this is a great spice to keep on hand—I'd definitely have no issues buying this for my household and recommend it to anyone looking to add a reliable, flavorful curry powder to their spice cabinet.
When I took off the seal I wasn't sure what to expect with this curry powder, but the smell was so wonderful! I tried the curry on a mix of potatoes, zucchini, squash, peppers and onions and it was the perfect spice blend! My toddler is usually a little picky about seasoned veggies, but she ate them up with the curry blend on it. I will say it wasn't as spicy or bold as when I use curry paste but it was still lovely and delicious!
Thank you McCormick Gourmet for the free Curry Powder to try out! Curry is a seasoning we do not use often at home and this may change our routines! We added this to chicken and steak with rice, peppers, and onions. My entire family really liked the seasoning and will be making this again! It was definitely a repeat to use more often and get into the routine of using more!
