McCormick Gourmet Organic Ground Cumin, 1.5 oz Bottle

I received this Organic roasted ground cumin free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. I will start out by saying that I'm currently working on advancing my cooking skills and have been adding various seasonings to see if they enhance or reduce flavor. This roasted ground cumin has a very distinct rich flavor. You can smell the freshness immediately upon opening the container. I really like that it comes in a glass jar and a sifter cap for better control when pouring. So far I have added this ground cumin to my beef chili and my Dominican red beans. This really enhances the flavors and adds a nice earthly taste. A little goes a long way, as it's a very concentrated spice. I think I was most impressed with the upgraded flavor to my red beans, they came out delicious! I would definitely recommend this ground cumin if you want to add an extra level of seasoning to your food.

This cumin spice from McCormick's Gourmet Organic Spice collection is out of this world. It's so fragrant, pungent and full of flavor, it took my dish to the next level. The freshness and aroma definitely stand out. I made a roasted chicken and potato recipe with cumin and my family loved it. I'm so happy to have this spice in my collection. The McCormick Gourmet Organic Ground Cumin is much more aromatic and fresher than cumin I have bought previously. I typically buy McCormick spices as my preference, and I even had some of my non-McCormick Gourmet Cumin that I recently bought to compare this product to. We like to use cumin in chili, lambs stews, and Mexican-inspired dishes so we go through cumin fairly quickly. The aroma from the Gourmet Organic Ground Cumin was stronger and fresher than my other McCormick cumin I had on hand, and it rounded out our dishes perfectly. If you like cumin, or if you want to pick a fresh cumin to cook with regularly, then I would highly recommend McCormick Gourmet's Organiz Ground Cumin. I don't use cumin super often, but it's a main ingredient in greek chicken that we make with mint, lemon, and greek yogurt pretty regularly. I got the chance to try "McCormick Gourmet™ Organic Ground Cumin, 1.5 oz" for free via BzzAgent, and it was a perfect match, so I had to whip some up. I have to say the difference is immediately noticeable. It smells so much more intensely than our current bottle. The taste is more concentrated and punchy than my generic ground cumin in my pantry, and also fresher, which I mean is to be expected in my case. The McCormick also seems to more finely ground than my prior brand as well, which I liked, as it mixes into the marinade much more easily and had better distribution. My bottle says it's "toasted" and I do detect a more toasty-flavor to it, which just added to the sautéed chicken flavor even more. I have to say I might be a convert. I'd easily buy this over the generic in the future. I highly recommend it.

I'm already a fan of McCormick spices and seasonings and was super excited to try their new Gourmet line. You can smell the cumin through the bottle. We used it with chicken and rice to add a little spice and flavor and it was so delicious! Excited to try the other flavors in the gourmet line!

This cumin has such a good flavor! I feel better about the contents as well because it's organic and the glass bottle makes it feel like a much more expensive product. I do however wish I could buy this seasoning in bulk because I'd love to use it more often!

While I typically use a store bought taco seasoning I decided to make my own using the McCormick Gourmet Organic Ground Cumin. The cumin added a great flavor and enhanced my homemade taco seasoning so much so that I think I'm going to continue making my own versus buying it at the grocery store.

First I'd like to say I buy McCormick products on a regular basis due to the quality and this Organic Ground Cumin did not disappoint. It's hard to review a single spice especially when they're usually combined with a variety of other spices etc. That being said even upon just opening the bottle, the freshness and aroma really stood out. I always take a new bottle and compare it a bottle that has been opened for a while. This McCormick bottle really stood out when compared to an older bottle I had in the cabinet. The pungent yet earthy smell queued me to the freshness of the bottle and reassured me that this was a high quality product. I smoke a lot of meats and make a lot of recipes from scratch, quality is the key factor when trying to take an ordinary meal and make it an exemplary meal. I made chilli, as well as curry chicken, which came out very good and authentic to my island cooking roots. I would definitely reccomend this product its 5 star rating for me comes from quality and freshness.

I really liked the way this cumin tastes for a ground option that is organic. I tend to buy whole cumin and also like the ease of having ground available but find most ground cumin brands lack bold flavor. This one is really fresh and pleasant tasting. You can do a sprinkle or much more and the packaging helps get just the right amount that you need for recipes and adding as a little extra flavor boost.

This McCormick organic cumin is a must have staple to have on hand. I use cumin often while making mexican food, most often while making beans several times a week. This cumin elevates flavor and is easy to use. It comes in a glass Shaker bottle, and while the Shaker plastic lid comes off, I found the lid doesn't actually close without it (I usually take off the Shaker lid so I can scoop the spice).
