McCormick Gourmet Collection Smoked Paprika, has a great smoky taste. It is all natural; made from sweet peppers smoked over harwood for 7 days and silicon dioxide to make the paprika free flowing. I don't think we use Paprika enough, but it has many uses with chicken, fish, pork, potatoes, egg salad, etc. I use it for all these things as well as in my veggie pasta salad, giving a smoky, bacon taste without any meat for those vegetarians among us. Homemade oven-fried potatoes, both white and sweet, benefit from a good dash of Smoked Paprika. I have tried another brand, but found the smoke taste to be artificial...that is not a problem with McCormick Gourmet Collection Smoked Paprika. IT is a natural smoke taste. I highly recommend this product for its authentic flavor and it's a good price as well! I've included a picture of my Chicken Paprikash, made with onion, red bell pepper, garlic and a generous 2 TBS of McCormick Gourmet Collection Smoked Paprika (NO tomato used for coloring)
For years I have used regular paprika when the recipe called for smoked paprika, simply because I did not have it and I figured that it wasn't a big difference. Wrong! This has much more flavor, and I now only use the old kind for color or if I don't want a smoky taste (which means rarely). So if you want your deviled eggs to be a bit tastier, try this..... thanks, McCormick.
This little bottle sure packs a big punch of a flavor. Add it to anything you want a little smoky flavor. It is great in salsas, deviled eggs, potatoe salad, meat rubs, jerky. It is sligthtly darker in color than the regular paprika. Let your imagine fuel your taste buds. It comes in a glass bottle with a flip sprinkle cap making it very easy to sprinkle just a little or remove the lid and scoop it out. The bottle fits perfectly in your spice cabinet. This is a great addition to your spice collection. I will definitely be keeping this in stock and telling others about it.
I have always wanted to try smoked paprika after seeing it mentioned on the cooking shows and thought this is a great time to try it as I have been unable to find it in the grocery stores that I shop in. used this on bone in chicken thighs and cooked the chicken on the grill. I thought it was a great flavor changer. My family loved it wiped the chicken out ( I usually have a few pieces left ). That extra smoky flavor really kicked things up a notch and I would definitely but this!
How exciting to receive what is our house's favorite spice! We use paprika more than anything so to get to try out this new to us organic one we were thrilled. The smell is strong and the taste was great. It made our steaks quite tasty and added a bit of flair to our chicken soup yesterday! We definitely recommend.
Tried this Smoked Paprika in my Chicken Tortilla Soup and in a few other dishes. It contains the perfect balance of sweet and smokey flavors. The quality is what I would expect from McCormick. It distributes nicely from the bottle, which looks nice, too!
I'm not usually the type to write a review about something like paprika, it's just a spice, right? But this paprika is so fresh and potent, I had to say something. The smoky flavor actually stands out and it's become my secret weapon on everything from roasted potatoes to eggs. It's not overpowering, just that perfect ratio of sweet and smokey. So yeah, consider this me, the non-spice reviewer, telling you, if you use paprika this one's worth a try!!
This spice is wonderful. It taste fresh and gave a nice aroma. I used it to make chili, as well as sprinkled it on fresh homemade popcorn the other night. The bottle is a nice size and is well made. I recommend this product and will be buying it in the future.
I absolutely love this smoked paprika. The glass bottle and screw on lid really elevate the spice cabinet, and it's the best looking (AND tasting) smoked paprika I own. I use this on chicken, beef birria and vegetables. It has a nice deep smokey flavor. I will be re-buying when I'm out!
Whoever thought changing this "Gourmet" Organic Smoked Paprika from McCormick bottle was a good idea must never actually use this . The old bottle was great. It had an easy shape to hold, and the lid stayed connected to the bottle and snapped closed. Easy and efficient. This new bottle is ridiculous. It comes with a useless "seal" strip that leaves glue residue on both the lid (three spots) and the bottle (two spots). It's sticky. Any extra paprika sticks to the glue. The metal lid came with a dent and doesn't screw on evenly. It takes several tries to get the lid on straight. And since it is not connected to the bottle, I have to hunt for it. Why are you making things more difficult and time-consuming? Maybe because I'm annoyed by this inconvenience, but the smoked paprika doesn't taste as deep as it used to, and it came with a seed that doesn't look like a paprika seed. I will pour this into the old bottle for now.
