It is a matter of individual taste
My wife and I found FingerLakes too strong / smoky taste for us. We had previously found the McCullagh plain Arabica (also from Sam's) a little lack luster but not bad. When we mixed one dry ounce of FingerLakes with two dry ounces of Arabica we liked it and hence the four star rating. To us, the mixture is significantly better than either alone and we get 4 pots from 3 pouches making it more economical.
