Meccano by Erector, Micronoid Green Switch, Programmable Robot Building Kit

I purchased this for my grandsons and they both loved it. It was easy to assemble and kids can do it but they might need a parent's help, depending on the child's age. They were most impressed by the automated responses this bot gave. Most excellent toy.

I ordered this at Wal-Mart.com for my grandson for Christmas. I was pleased that it was actually delivered earlier than promised, especially because I had ordered the same thing from Amazon 1.5 weeks before which was lost in shipping. This item requires an adult or older sibling to assist with assembly, but now my grandson is really enjoying it. It didn't hurt that his best friend got one for Christmas as well, so they can play with them together.

Bought this for my nephew and he loves it! Challenged him to put it together and he was able to do it 9 years old. Has some very funny actions. Great present!

Need parent help to build but not difficult. My 7 years old son had a blast with him. Cute, noise and fun.

My boys, ages 8 and 10, really loved this robot. I would definitely recommend buying two robots as the interaction between them was their favourite part. My boys loved recording their voices and making them walk. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that both of my boys needed quite a bit of guidance in building the robot. It was a fun team project but was a frustrating independent one.

This little robot was relatively easy to construct with good instructions to follow. The robot functions are a little more limited than we expected, but the kids are having fun with it!

I ordered this for my younger brother and he thought it was pretty cool. He put it together relatively fast. There were a couple parts that didnt quite fit like they were supposed to but over all it worked and talked.

very hard because pieces are not balanced and you are trying to hold up the robot and screw in TINY screws and hold the nut on the backside of the screw. 10 Year old has had fun playing with it....but it really isn't very creative or interactive. Just basic.

My 8 year old son got this as a Christmas present. He was super excited when he opened up the gift. However, when he opened the box and realized he had to put the robot together, all 139 pieces with tiny tools, it was obvious he was disappointed. The numerous nuts, bolts, brackets, and various molded parts had to be separated into various bowls to keep them from rolling off the table or getting intermingled. After spending about 30 minutes organizing parts, reading and understanding the directions he was expressing a lot of frustration. When he realized the tools do not fit the parts well and are so small it is difficult for an adult to assist, he was done. I think this toy may have been put up indefinitely or at least until I am willing to be the primary builder. It is too bad that there were so many challenges with the building of this toy for this age group. Maybe it would be better suited for an older child. I would not recommend this toy for the 8+ age group, maybe the 12+ age group.

Well we followed directions. All it does is say..come closer..and it cries. A very eerie cry. So top heavy that it constantly falls, as soon as it moves. We have tried everything. But thats all it will do. Not a cheery toy from Santa.
