My brother has struggled with hearing for a lifetime. He has worn prescription hearing aids as well as assorted OTC models. These are the first ones that have enabled him to hear better in many years. I would highly recommend.
they scream shrill in my ears and they won't stay put and won't stay charged
I recommend to purchase once you will like it. It work easily
This hearing aid is not a prescription type aid, but an audio amplifier. I bought this one because my prescription type aid broke, so I needed something for immediate use until I could get a replacement. I have used mine for just a week now, and here's what I discovered. I provides the help I need very well, with just a few drawbacks. First of all, it works surprisingly well. It provides the amplification I need to change mumbles into understandable speech. Not quite as good as my prescription device did, but it makes a great back-up aid. It has a rechargeable battery which easily lasts for more than 12 hours. I didn't test for how long a charge lasts. It comes with a recharging stand and I let it recharge overnight. It also comes with a selection of different sized, soft rubber nubs that direct the sound from the tiny ear-bud type speaker into your ear canal. It has just two simple controls, an on-off switch and a volume control, both easily adjusted while it is worn and in your ear. Mine is a nice flesh colored one. All this is good, but it is not perfect. To me, the biggest drawback is the size. The MEDca aid is large and bulky when compared to my old, broken, but small, behind-the-ear hearing aid. So bulky, that the bow of my eye glasses barely have room to fit in. And, since the MEDca is designed to fit either the left or right ear, the small, flexible cable connecting the ear-bud speaker to the behind-the-ear part is a bit too long, and sticks out. It is hard to hide. Slightly clumsy. Would I buy it again? Definitely yes. It is serving my purpose very well. Just one more thing. Walmart has offered me an astounding $5 for writing this review, so I can't claim I;m unpaid for this review. However, I will truthfully say I would write it no differently it there was no payment involved. Rocky tells it like it is.
the aid was good but it was a bit loose over the ear and it fell out often but im getting used to it. It does work though so for the money its really nice.
lot of screeching sound, but it will work until I get my original one back
Too much background noise.
cost was good
