It is just plain useful to have a second set. It means that I didn't have to wash and sterilize the parts in the middle of the night in order to be able to use them again first thing in the morning. I definitely recommend having a spare set on hand!
Works perfectly with the Medela pump. Glad I could find a replacement part for my old pump. Package arrived quickly.
I'm glad I finally ordered the spare parts kit. I'm back to work and it is really handy having an extra set. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Bought parts for a new (to me) Freestyle pump. SO GLAD I DID!! Pump lets me move around freely, instead of being locked down next to an electrical outlet!! Parts were excellent quality, and arrived in a very time manner!!
Great to travel but the suction is not the best you still feel a little full after pumping
when they work, they are great...not i do not recommend this product. often times they do not seal so don't get proper suction. when pumping you have to unsnap/resnap them to get them to work. Only had pump for a month and they have been like that from the beginning.
Only gave 2 stars based on the sheer fact that Medela does not make just the membranes available for purchase. I have to buy a new pair every 2-3 weeks (pumping 2x per day) because they lose their suction, taking me longer and longer to pump to get the same amount of milk, and sometimes not being able to feel that I've emptied each breast. I had the PISA with my first pregnancy, and those membranes and much smaller/cheaper and not costly to replace so frequently. Otherwise, I am very happy with the Freestyle pump. I have some freedom to move around, it's easier to pump & drive with, and it's gentler on my nipples. It's a crying shame that Medela CHOOSES to not make just the membranes available for such a great pump. The cost & inconvenience has me considering to stop breastfeeding & switching to formula!
I ordered spare parts because the originals that came with my freestyle did not work as well anymore. (I've only had my freestyle for 2 months). After receiving these they worked great but it was such a disappointment when one side would not pump as well. I really wanted these spare parts to fix my problem with my freestyle.
I bought these part as a back up for the ones that I use on a daily basis. The suction That they provide is much less than my regular part. After personally investigating different reasons it's because the connection at the back of the part housing does not connect to the tubes with up an appropriate sea that they provide is much less then my regular pump parts. After investigating it I realized it's because the new parts do not connect with the tubing and create a poor seal. This affects my ability to properly Express my milk and leaves me feeling very uncomfortable and decreasing my milk supply. I had hoped that purchasing from a dealer directly would reduce this risk of a poor Purchase but no joy.
I have used the Freestyle for 3 babies for a total of over 3.5 years of pumping, and have never had issues until recently when apparently Medela made changes to the spare parts kits. I have bought at least 6-8 of the new kits and get inconsistent suction with all of them. I have 2 of the old style connectors (old style have 3 openings in the bottom, new only have 2) so I have used those exclusively, but couldn't figure out which of the membranes and backs were new and which were old, so I still had issues with suction. I have 2 pumps so I can confirm that the pump is not the issue. Sometimes if I take the spare parts apart and put them back together they will work better. Often the membranes will keep popping back out of the connector and obviously don't fit properly. I have previously had a great experience with the Freestyle, so I was very disappointed at the reduced quality of this product and the negative effect it had on my pumping output and overall experience.
