I appreciate the various tools (material calculator, as one example). I think the photos of the fretwork on walls in different sizes is extraordinarily valuable.
I love this! I didnt do it myself, it would definitely have been crooked but watching my friend install it didnt seem hard. Took about 3.5 hours and she didnt need a level. The hardest part was cutting the pieces to finish the edges. Also I recommend getting more that they recommend because there will be waste with cutting.
The fretwork transformed my room. Its super impressive and stylish. I painted them first, then laid out my pretend in the floor and it took maybe 45 minutes to put all the full pieces up and another 90 minutes to cut the end pieces. Putty and sanded then just touched up with paint the next day. I get so any compliments. I love it all!
Wanted to try something different on a small wall by the entry way. Was easy to install; we just used baseboard adhesive to glue it to the wall and seems to hold fine. I played with the pattern a little and had extra pieces. Might be nice if the company that makes it had a way to digitally design it and order pieces individually since these can get rather expensive. But overall the wood is beautiful, and I love the way it adds a pop of something different to the wall.
Not sure the picture dropped in right . But this wall was stunning. I first had the wall skim coated so it would be flat, then primed it and added the design pieces. Since I started the design in the center of the wall, I was short 8 squares and crosses. The square footage was 140, but there was a lot of waste due to centering it. But I'm glad I did, because it was stunning. I painted the wall and pieces with flat paint, but added a shiny top coat to only the design pieces. My client loved it.
The wall panels transformed my room. I really didnt want shelving or a gallery wall and was searching for something different. These are great. I have a light coffee colored wall and the white panels really pop. My decorator ( who did not find these for me ) loved them. They are easy to install ( do require sanding and painting ) but the measuring and laying out are bit tricky. We had to order twice. We ended up putting up a thin border on three sides) to even out the design and after installing we repainted the edges for an extra smooth look.
I got the MDF with a plan to paint them in a similar shade but with luster than the wall color. They really needed to be primed first. Then after nailing them to the wall I had to fill the holes, re-prime and paint again. Also filling in the seams between pieces. If I had to do it again I would have just painted all the edges and waited to prime and paint the fronts till after they were nailed down and the seams caulked and sanded. Looks great though.
The end result is lovely. I will say the product did not come anywhere near ready to use. The edges were very rough with a lot of sanding required to look even close to smooth prior to installing. The thickness of the pieces is not 100% uniform so the seams are visible even if you fill them. I also used the provided calculator to figure out how much to buy and I was significantly short, despite ordering extra for waste. The calculator did not account for the partial pieces that would need to be cut to take the design all the way to the corners, ceiling, and baseboards. This is unfortunate since the more you buy, the less each piece costs. It also took 3 weeks to receive from the time I ordered it.
Really enjoyed the process of putting this up in my home. The only setback was that I had to prime and paint the pieces several times because the wood kept absorbing the paint color.
Worst thing I ever purchase. It come with 2 T shaped pieces for $25. You would need to spend almost $1000 to complete a standard size wall. Dont have my wall measurement. It was terrible. No instructions came with it. I guess youre suppose to look at the diagram on the wall. Terrible
