Customer Insights: Rated 3.5/5 from 6 reviews.
The chair works well for my Dad and is fairly easy to load and unload from a vehicle. As a first time user of a wheelchair, it was difficult to know if the desk length arms would be comfortable for my Dad's long arms. They are not and now we are looking for full length arms that can be used with this chair.
I have experience with two different Medline, a K1 and this K4. The K4's arms are hinged at the back to allow the arm to swing up and out of the way, like when dismounting into a car seat or onto a toilet. Very handy. (The K1's arm come off to do this. Two more things to keep up with when maneuvering into tight spaces.) The K4 elevating leg rests are easy to detach. This is important when entering the passenger side of a car. We were used to a WIDE chair when borrowing one at hospitals for dr. appointments. The 18" seat nicely fits my 139-lb wife and is very easy to get through doors. The desk-length arms help rolling up to a desk or table and made carrying a folder walker easier. The wheels on the K4 are solid but yielding when going over thresholds. It is easy to move around with a person in it. (I wonder why some chairs are hundreds more than this chair. I wonder where the added value comes in.)
It doesn't seem like it is lightweight. Very bulky and the leg rests don't lower very much so you hit things with your feet when turning.
5 months old and hydraulic pistons locked up.
