Medline is a good company to get equipment from if you need it. It's a good cane. The price was very affordable. Easy to adjust to your height. My only concern it is a little wobbly. Some of the reviews did mention it but still were satisfied with their purchase. I am getting use to it as I use it more.
The fact that it stands up by itself is really helpful, you can let go of it to use both hands and it is still there when you need it. the only thing to complain about is that the foam handle absorbs sweat and gets slimy, I put a small sock on it. Then I can wash it.
I like this type of cane. it gives me more stability when walking. I lost my last one and this was only $1 more than the to ast one I bought at Walmart years ago. That was the best part of this purchase!!!
There are other 4 legged canes that have a bigger base and they are more sturdy. However, they are also more clumsy to walk with. This is still fairly sturdy, but a lot easier to walk with. I guess it comes down to what stage your problem is at.
The cane only has one side of the locking pin engaged in a height adjustment hole. There is no hole for the other side of the locking pin therefore when you put weight on the cane on uneven ground it slips down 2 or 3 holes
To me this item was way tooo wobbly for me...Not very sturdy, no support ! I'am only 120 pounds and 5ft 6in. used for a knee injury...I think on this quad cane it needed to be more sturdy and wider on the base...
Husband keeps losing his canes. (Dementia) so I buy these when I can to have extras. Not as expensive as I thought. And he has been somewhat keeping up with it.
The feet on the bottom are not balanced. There are two feet that are longer than the other two. My elderly aunt keeps falling. Have to return. Keep that in mind when buying this item. It's not made wrong per se. It's not disclosed in the description of the item.
I was having difficulty walking out in the open with my single legged cane and was having to use a walker, I decided to try a quad cane, as they're called, and was able to use it when I went out. It gives me stability when I'm in the open, and don't have to use both hands to control my standing apparatus. It works great.
This small base quad cane is perfect for providing adequate support for walking on level surfaces and stairs. I feel more stable using it compared to my standard straight cane. The price was reasonable for the quality. It handles my 200 lbs weight well. I am very happy that I bought it.
