My two-year-old daughter was thrilled to pieces to open up the package we received last week and find the MEGA BLOKS Skybright Airport. She recently went on her first airplane ride, so airplanes and airports are very interesting to her at the moment. She loves putting the pieces together in different ways and playing with the figures and the airplane. We even reviewed security procedures with the "gate" piece! I find the colors and different shapes (including flaps and doors/windows) delightful, and am pleased to see a female person of color represented in the figures. I'm a little disappointed she is not the one wearing the "pilot" uniform (though one could certainly still claim the pilot as female), but I was happy to see the largest picture on the box features a girl playing with the set and having the female figure fly the plane-- I am very pleased this set is being marketed to both girls and boys. When building vertically, my daughter's pressure on the pieces often causes the structure to collapse-- I would like to see just a little more stability for little ones who haven't yet figured out how to regulate pressure while trying to coordinate stacking, although I suppose playing with the set might serve to help develop those skills. Overall, this is a wonderful set and my daughter is really enjoying it. Ready for takeoff! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We received the Mega Blocks Skybright airport to review. My son is 14 months old and so he loves playing with this set. He isn't able to put it together on his own, so I did while he was sleeping. The enclosed directions have step by step pictures and are very easy to follow. There were no directions for the vertical configuration, but the box has a very large picture, so I was able to build the vertical tower from that. My son noticed the new toy right away and started playing with it. He especially loved the airplane with the block buddy captain. Also included was the air traffic controller block buddy. I liked the fact that the set comes with two block buddies so they can be friends. These blocks are the perfect size for tiny hands, and although my son can not build this on his own, he enjoyed the working doors and flip signs, and the block buddies. It also works well and can be expanded with other Mega Bloks that we own. This is definitely a toy that can grow with him and encourage imagination. Overall I would recommend this set for hours of fun! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My little boy is just over a year old, and he really enjoys the moving parts. He immediately gravitated towards the people and windows and doors. He absolutely loves destroying it. I imagine that the toy will grow with him as he gets older. This is nice because we will be able to use it for a longer period of time. It really gets them using their imagination, and he 'flies' the airplane around. It's adorable! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My children loved this toy. They are 1 year old and almost 4 years old. The 1 year old enjoyed putting the blocks together and playing with the little characters/plane. My 4 year old loved building the airport and playing with it. This toy provided great opportunities for each child to role play which also promotes speech development. It allowed my children to use their imaginations and play at their own levels while playing together. There were no parts I had to worry about being a choking hazard for my 1 year old. Because of the wide range of ways this toy can be played with, along with it's durability, I found it a great value and one I will definitely gift give in the future! The Mega Bloks Skybright Airport is a cute set that will definitely grow with my daughter. She is 16 months and has gotten good at putting the blocks together and taking them apart but she doesn't understand the concept of putting it together as an airport yet. So, as she gets older I can see her having more fun with this. The opening door and window is a nice touch and she loves playing with the people. This is a great addition to the Mega Bloks Family. I, like so many other parents of small children, own a large collection of the classic multi-colored Mega Bloks®. While these have provided many hours of imaginative fun, I was searching for something to recapture the attention of my 3 1/2 year old who enjoys a little more realism. The Mega Bloks® Skybright Airport set provides the perfect balance of both abstract and realistic building pieces and includes an airplane and two characters. Also enclosed are clear, picture-based instructions that help my son build confidence and gain the skills he needs to tackle more complex building sets down the road. Although I initially thought the realism would limit design options, this set retains the inspiring versatility of the classic Mega Bloks® as my son quickly deviated from the prescribed airport design and created some interesting giant robots! I highly recommend this set to anyone looking to start or enhance their child's Mega Bloks® collection! I will definitely be looking for more sets like these in the future! My 4 yr old loves blocks and really enjoys playing with these. I would say that she finds it a little difficult to put it together the exact way that it is meant to go, but nevertheless she still has fun! I was given this toy for free to give an honest review. We received the Skybright Airport from Meg Bloks. The packaging was very cute. My daughter loved that there were blocks on the outside. She knew just what they were and was very excited to open it up and play with it. Once opened and all the contents were on the floor, it was very easy to put together and took only a few minutes. I had to put it together since my daughter is too young. Once we had it all together my daughter was thrilled! She loved the little airplane and ran around the room pretending to fly it in the air. She gravitated to the signs that were flaps and went up and down. She sat and played with it for at least 30 minutes, which is long in toddler time. The only thing that frustrated her was she kept wanting to pick it up and move it around the room. Each time she would pick it up, it would fall apart and she would need help putting it back together. I had to take pictures of it so I would remember how it went together for in the future. Overall, it's a great toy! It's made well and my two year old loved it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I received this item as a product review. I normally don't buy these type of things for my kids because there are too many specific pieces that they aren't ready to use. I have 2.5 year old twin boys. They initially enjoyed having the airport put together but quickly destroyed it and began freeplay with the blocks. They seemed to enjoy the actual airplane and two people it came with more than the airport as a whole. The blocks were like all of the other megablocks and did not always fit together correctly. It is difficult to keep them together because most of them are too loosely fitting. It may be better for younger children who don't have as good a grasp, or older children who would keep the airport together and use it properly. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have had this toy for a bit over a week now and it is holding up to my 14 month old. Putting it together though wasn't so easy, only reason why I gave 3 stars, the assembly doesn't match the instructions so it will not go together right and I had extra pieces. My daughter loves playing with the people and the plane as well as knocking down the tower each time I build it back up. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
