Mega Construx Pokemon Pikachu vs. Bulbasaur Battle Pack

My son loved this pokemon building toy, his favorite part being the electric shock piece. The set seemed to stay together well. He liked that it came with two characters so he could have a battle with them. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

My boys love Pokémon and were really excited to get the Mega Construx Pokémon Pikachu vs. Balbasaur set. It was a fun family project although the pieces were kind of hard for my 6 and 8 year old boys to snap together. My 11 year old and I were the ones that finally got it together. My son and I really enjoyed building this together. He would not have been able to build it on on his own and he is usually really good at building things. The instructions could have been a little more detailed and the pieces were hard to put together even for me. Aside from those items, we had fun. This toy brought my son and I together and we were able to problem solve together. I helped him find the correct pieces since they were in different bags and we talked through how we thought it should be put together. We took turns on different steps and spent a lot of quality time together. It took us about 20-30 minutes to put together and we enjoyed each minute. Even though I don't think my 6 yr old could have put it together unassisted we really liked doing it together and spending time together. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This was a great afternoon project for my son who is 6. He had fun with the instructions and pictures of how to assemble, although he asked for help just a few times from good 'ol mom and I was happy to help him! I got this for my daughter who loves pikachu. Once we got it put together, she was super happy with it. However, the instructions were a bit complex for a six year old. I had to help her a lot more than I usually do with construction sets. It held together really well once it was assembled. I also thought it had too many specialty pieces to be put together in new ways. But overall it’s a nice set, especially if you love Pokémon like my daughter does. My child loves playing with this set, but he was unable to assemble it himself. Actually, I had a difficult time assembling the set. We are avid construction set assemblers and this was difficult. The pictures were not as clear as they could be as to which piece went where. Also, the pictures were very small and difficult to see clearly. NOT worth the money, maybe if it sold for $10 not $50. Returning for sure
