This is a great set for beginners. The paint has good pigment. The set comes with a good quality brush. If your just getting started and want a good variety and quality, i would definitely recommend this set.
Took a while to unwrap the pans, but when I swatched the paints, I was very impressed with the vibrant pigments, how easily they activated, and the included brush was very nice.
A great watercolor set for beginner at a great price. The color range is great, in the beginning color mixing to get all the range of color is difficult. This set gives you 52 color to get the details of your artwork PERFECT.
great value.i am sure as I get further into my watercolor painting class the more versed in how to use them many more ways but they are very vibrant and quite a variety of colors to choose I feel like a kid in a candy store. kudos to your company
The colors are vibrant; however, the half pans are small to me having used the Japanese full pans that spoil an artist. These are considered "medium" grade, but they work for me in practice or a finished artwork. These paints seem to last as well, and a little goes a long way.
I am BLOWN AWAY by this palette. I expected box-store quality, but I ordered it anyway because 1. I'm an amateur, and 2. it was cheap. I've bought mid-tier paints before, and TBH they didn't make enough difference to make it worth the money. Anyway, I ordered this, and it sat on the shelf for a bit while I finished some other projects I had going. Last night I opened it up for the first time and swatched it - I still am kind of in disbelief. The colors are SO saturated, SO smooth, SO easy to work with. I'm going to tell everyone I know about it :D
This is a decent set with a full range of colors. The intensity isn't as good as professional grade watercolors, but it's serviceable and far, far less expensive than a premium set. I like the size of the metal case, the mixing area, and the accessories. I knocked off a star because the top portion of the latch wasn't attached to the box (the rivets weren't installed properly). We had a fair amount of fuss and bother to repair that. However, my husband can fix almost anything, so it's right now. I suspect this isn't a common defect, but if you happen to find a similar problem, you'll need to be able to drill out the defective rivets so you can either rivets the catch on properly, or bolt it on with small bolts. A couple of sturdy rubber bands might work too, but wouldn't be as good.
I was watching a U-Tube video on watercolor painting and the presenter highly recommended this paint . After looking at it on line I decided to give it a try. The colors are nice although when using watercolor paper, the color tends to fade out so I have gone back to using my original brands when I am painting something I want to keep or give as a gift. Again, there is a really nice selection of colors. I prefer using paint tubes because if there is a color I use frequently in this type of paint palette you go through a color pretty fast. I still use this palette for small things like making note and birthday cards where I am not using a ton of paint for the artwork.
I wish the Pans were labeled with at least the number to match up on the color chart. Hard to distinguish some colors. Otherwise a lovely set with beautiful rich colors.
The paint might be okay. I don't know if I'm being sent seconds or what's going on. The first one I received was broken inside the case. The second one I received had a broken tray and a banged up case.
