MEINL HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair 13 in.

We needed an extra pair of permanently closed hi-hats as part of a percussion battery alongside a set of timbales. While a three-hundred dollar pair of Zildjian or Paiste hi-hats would have been nice, it would have been WAY overkill for this particular (acoustic) application. So we needed something that was relatively quiet, but definitely not that horrible "tinny" sound, like the cheapest-of-the-cheap, raw brass "Royce" Brand of cymbals that is distributed through the traditional musical equipment wholesalers like Harris-Teller. Refreshingly, the Meinl hi-hats come as a matched set (as they should), both cymbals clearly marked hi-hat "top" and "bottom", respectively (as they should). if you are accustomed to playing on a set of waffle-edged hi-hats, you will not find these to your liking, but for practically everyone else, they are both sufficient and satisfactory.
