Amazing!!! First off...the packaging for this is enormous. I think it is well worth the money. I got it on sale for $9 but will gladly buy more sets at $15 for future birthday gifts. Each box, "can", and food is double sided with something different on each side. Example: raw chicken and cooked chicken, strawberries and blueberries, white beans and black beans. The heavy cardboard foods fit perfectly inside the bowl and cup. It has a menu so play for two is simple: one orders, one makes. The plates, pots, silverware are a very nice thick plastic. No risk of snapping it in two. Some pieces are wood, like the salt and pepper shakers. The plastic placemat has a sink and stove printed on the opposite side so it really is a complete kitchen set great for space saving.
Liked the way it was displayed in the box. Bought for granddaughter as she got a kitchen set for her birthday. Really like the cardboard food pictures as one side is before cooked, but turn it over and it shows the food cooked. .So don't throw all those out
Loved everything about it. My baby is not even 2 yet, but I'm letting him play with the pot, frying pan and cup first, storing away the cardboard items until he turns older. He's having fun pretending to drink from the cup and mimicking me cooking. I think this will make a perfect gift because the box is huge and when a child sees it, they'll be so happy. After taking everything out, there are not to many things for parents to wipe and won't clutter the house. There's also a bag so you can store everything away. The only downside is that the olive oil bottle will evaporate and the liquid inside will eventually dry out.
I bought this when it was on sale for $10, but I would easily pay full price for this. Every piece of food is reversible and it comes with a little menu and grocery list. The meat is raw on one side so when they prepare it, they can flip it over so that it's 'cooked'. The pieces are made from a durable cardboard which I believe will stand the test of time. My kids love playing restaurant and are really loving this set. 100/10 stars.
This has a lot more pieces to it than I realized. I got it half off, thank you Black Friday, and was very surprised when I received it. There are boxes and bags for the pantry, cookware, and cardboardish pieces of food that you can cook in the skillets. My granddaughter is going to love this!
There are a lot of wonderful safe-for-children miniature pieces of kitchenware, utensils, cutlery, and food samples that intuitively and appealingly promote kids' learning behavior toward cooking and food preparations as well as clearly and realistically demonstrated dietary alternatives in each of their meals during the day. Awesome!!
Great well made product. Just a little spendy for what it is.
Always have had good luck with the Melissa %26 Doug play food. I didn't realize that most of the food is just a thin piece of heavy cardboard to mimic food in a bowl, on a plate, in a pan, etc. Not sure how well it will hold up or if my grands will like it. All the rest of the food in their kitchen is actual plastic food pieces.
A lot of this is just cardboard cut outs with pics of food on it. I want things like, plastic spaghetti, plastic eggs, ect. The cardboard will be so easy to rip/break; even taking in and out of toy box. I'll pay the higher price for better quality that'll last longer. I do like that it makes kids use their imagination.
I wouldn't pay more than $15 for it. I've seen other stores just got this for a higher price it's plastic cheap plastic cardboard it's probably the cheapest thing Melissa and Doug ever put out. It don't compare to their other toys. The cup is bigger than the pans. Looks like dollar store toys. I only purchased it for her to have something to play with when she comes to my house. If it was some thing she had to play with every day I wouldn't of bought it. It wouldn't last long if it was played with her every day.
