Melissa & Doug Wooden Take-Along Sorting Barn Toy

The colors are bright. This is made out of wood and the cutouts in the barn are wide enough for the pieces to fit through easily. This was a Christmas gift for a 2 year old, she likes carrying it around and putting in all the animals. It is sturdy enough for her to sit on even though it isn't for that purpose.

Bought for my niece for her first birthday and it's her favorite toy even months later! The best part is it grows with them. First they just enjoy taking the figures out and putting them back in, and eventually they'll be learning to match the shapes and animals. You could also teach them animal sounds sounds with it as well. The construction and sturdiness is great. Highly recommend.

My great grandson loves this toy! I got it for his 1st birthday!!! It's made of wood animals and feels very well made! The carry handle fits his little hand nicely! I believe this toy to be very durable!!! Time will tell!!! He loves putting the animals through their holes! Would definitely recommend!

My kids LOVE this. It's one of those toys that actually keeps their attention longer than five minutes. The little animals are cute and sturdy, and I like that it helps with shapes and matching without feeling like “learning.” The handle makes it easy to carry around, which is perfect for trips or just moving room to room. Super simple but really worth it.

I bought this for my 10 month old and she loves it! But to my surprise my older two kiddos also like playing with it! I like that it's all wooden, and from a reputable brand like Melissa and Doug. It checks all my boxes! It's beautiful, not too big, the pieces are cute but not too small, and my kids love it!

I really enjoyed this toy for my son, I will say since he is in teething stage watch the paint on the characters. Otherwise it is very enjoyable my son and daughter play it together, the pieces easily fit through the proper holes for the characters and easy to top the sides to put all pieces in or out for parents sake for clean up. I grew up enjoying wooden toys, and they're so rare these days in retail stores. these are well made and if you're the kind that keeps things for future generations, this is definitely one toy, that can be passed down through multiple generations. since there would and not plastic, obviously they're flat. As opposed to round like a natural animal. But since it's a puzzle based toy, it works as intended. my grandbaby has almost all of their age appropriate toys. i've never been disappointed. they are a great learning tool. in summary, since they are made of wood, they are definitely sturdy, make an excellent toy, and gift

My 1 year old grandson loves it but it's too easy for my barely 4 year old grandson. Good quality wooden toy, which I prefer over plastic. Cute shapes and colors. The big complaint from me is that the kids can just put the shapes through basically any hole by turn them around until they fit. This makes it hard to teach them to pay attention to the shape.

This is an adorable Melissa and Doug set, and is made of quality materials that I've come to expect from this brand. However, the puzzle/shape sorting execution is flawed. My children are able to fit any assortment of animals and shapes into the open slots, regardless of whether it's the "correct" shape or not (see picture showing the tractor easily fitting into the horse cut-out). While the toy is cute, it doesn't serve the intended purpose of helping children identify similar shapes and sizes.

This barn is well made and cute but the shapes are difficult to handle. We must lay the barn on its side to place the shapes in the roof %26 it makes a 2 year old cry in frustration. Yet a 3 year old with better coordination is not interested at all. I would not recommend.
