Melissa & Doug Wooden Town Play Set With Storage Tray (32 pcs)

My son has loved making town set ups with these! Nice variety of pieces.

Santa gave this to my kiddos this Christmas and it was a hit. We tried placing them on the Melissa and Doug Round the Town Road Rug, and they stay up alright, but the trees and signs particularly work better on a hard flat surface. We ended up using these around a train set we already own, and it was a great touch. The pieces are great quality, and great for little hands.

Our granddaughters (aged 8 and 3) love to set-up a pretend town with this set and a couple more Melissa and Doug sets that we have. This provides great entertainment plus increases their creativity. Since I had previously purchased the VEHICLES AND TRAFFICE SIGNS and the wooden people separately, I wish I could just purchase a LARGE play rug. Melissa and Doug does make a DELUXE ROAD RUG PLAY SET, but it come with many of the same pieces I already purchased individually in the past. I just didn't know about the Deluxe Road Rug Play Set in the beginning of my purchases. All items are well made and colors are great! Worth the money.

My husband and I ordered it because WE wanted to play with it ourselves! Initially, our grandson didn't want to take anything out of the box, but after a bit he figured out how he could set things up to work with our set of small cars. It was fun to watch him decide what needed to go where. He arranged everything is a straight line along the edge of the rug. I had my own ideas but didn't interfere.

I really like Melissa and Doug products and seek them out to purchase for my grandson. We have a number of the puzzles and a couple of these play sets. These are great to play with on their own but can also be added to the train table and/or play mats to build a town or farm area. These sets contain a lot of colorful pieces great for hours of play.

I purchased this set for my 2 1/2 year old grandson. He seems to really like it. Sometimes he sets the buildings and trees and signs around on his Melissa and Doug Race Track Carpet and we ride his little cars around "the city", and talk about the buildings. Sometimes he quietly matches and sorts the traffic signs, and will ask me what they are. Sometimes he just takes all the pieces out, handling them and visually studying them. The various pieces seem to pique his interest. I like that the pieces are colorful and sturdy, and promote educational moments. The storage box is very useful.

My kids like to put these town buildings around their wooden train set. They have a fun time with it! They do need some people yet to go with it. For now they are using little people toys that are too big.

Lots of opportunity for creativity. Well made, sturdy. I saved the box it came in for neat and tidy storage. Used this as an opportunity to teach my grandchild about how cities are built.

The buildings in the set are usually labeled with this product and the one I received had no labels on them. The hospital was labeled in the picture online, but was not labeled when I got it.
