We purchase this for our break room. Looks and tastes like honey. Doesn't give me the "we slipped in some agave or corn syrup" allergic reaction, which in case you did not know, a lot of what is sold as honey, is not honey. So do some research if you eat a lot of it for health benefits, because I lot of times, it is mixed with the much cheaper, (and bad for you), corn syrup.
I'm on a medical diet that basically limits sugars and grains as much as possible. However, I CAN have honey. As it is the only sweetener I can have, I've become a bit of a honey snob. But this is some of the best honey I have ever had! And watching the price go down as I added more to my cart was so satisfying! As soon as I tasted it, I became horrified that Jet might stop carrying it someday. But I hope not! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Some folks pay a premium for 'raw honey' or 'organic honey'. Read the ingredients on this. Only one: Filtered honey. That's it - nothing added, nothing taken away. I had bees for many years, and can assure you that ALL honey is 'organic' unless some one adds something to it. I use this for sweetening in my Earl Grey tea, and in my hot buttered rum and hot toddies. It is an excellent honey with a perfect flavor - and at a GOOD price.
I buy this honey on a monthly basis as I make all our bread and pastry and it is a staple along with flour and yeast in my pantry! My family will no longer eat any bread that does not have this honey as an ingredient. In addition we use it in tea and even coffee as it has a very nice subtle taste.
We buy this often and keep it on hand. I was talking to my Dad on his birthday and mentioned putting honey on corn flakes to make them taste good, and he said he didn't have any honey. I solved that problem by buying some from the online store and having it shipped directly to him. Mom & Dad love it just as much as we do. Goes great on biscuits, in coffee or tea (instead of sugar), on waffles or pancakes...use your imagination.
My husband uses honey for his coffee. I use it for tea and baking. Buying it at Sam's is the best way because not only is it delicious, but we get two jars for a very fair price. Also, I can order it online when I order other things, and it's delivered free. Can't beat that.
This is now my favorite brand of honey. It has excellent flavor & color and the convenience of having 2-40 oz jars on hand is perfect, as they last a long time. I typically use this to mix into my yogurt, which is too tart for my tastes. The honey adds just the right amount of sweetness and great flavor to my daily dose of yogurt.
Love love love this honey, great mild taste and flows out nicely from the bottle. We started using this to flavor coffee, tea, drizzle on chicken for grilling, and drizzle on baked apples and carrots. Always have one bottle on the counter and a couple new ones in storage. Highly recommended.
i'm not a honey expert and this is my first purchase in years but this tastes just fine. i have nothing to compare it to but it's sweet, not bitter, and has a pleasant aftertaste. i bought it to use with baking recipes and so far i like it. it's a great deal for the price !
I am a beekeeper and I use my own honey exclusively for making mead. But for daily use in the kitchen I use the MM brand. You can't beat the price. If you buy honey from beekeepers at a farmer's market you'll find a lot of variation between their honey. Some will be thicker than others. The color will vary, and the tastes will be different. When you buy a brand name honey, most companies will put in a lot of effort to produce a consistent product, blending honey from many sources until it reaches the desired thickness, color, taste, etc. The MM honey is not as consistent as say, Sue Bee (which is considered the industry standard). Thick or thin, it's great for cooking. I use a lot of it in marinades, cakes, vinaigrette and other dressings.
