Work for post office and the ones we have to purchase dont last so I got these and what a difference and less money. I will buy these before the post office ones thanks
I work at a highly industrious job where protecting you feet is a must also working outside they have to be waterproof. i go thru metal detectors(body scanners) daily so the composite toes are a must or you gotta take your shoes off at the scanner & put them in the gray tubs (big pain). I haven't wore any other work boot since i picked up a pair of Rocky Alpha Force Composite Toe waterproof public service boot. I must have ordered roughly 8 pairs to date. My feet will not let me wear anything else
I have worn a lot of boots in my time (63 yrs). I have NEVER found a boot that performs in all areas, ie comfort, durability, longevity, water proof. I have had my first pair for almost 2 years wearing them 5-6 days a week. I have now bought my 2nd exact pair. I will keep buying this boot until it is discontinued and or Rocky changes the design!
One of many folks in law enforcement who swear by these boots, especially patrol. They hold up really well to everything you run into out there. The weight takes a few days to get used to if you normally wear lighter boots but these hold up much better over time. Well worth the investment, great product!
I have had no bad experiences with Rocky Boots. I never heard of them prior to a USPS job. I had such good performance with my tcp boots, that I purchased several other styles. Cowboy boots/TCP boots. I highly recommend the Rocky Brand.
I bought the Alpha force boots I have purchased them many times and I am happy with the boot itself. My problem is it has been only a couple of weeks and already the laces are coming apart, I am hoping maybe this problem gets addressed. Other than that the boot itself is great.
This is my second pair of rocky alpha force. My first pair I used for 4 yrs. Very durable. This pair, due to the discontinuation of women's sizes, is very different. I'm a wide width. So I ordered a 5.5w, which is equivalent to women's 7w. But this boot is not wide. Very tight across the top of foot. These are going to take a long time to break in. Rocky Co., if you read this, BRING BACK WOMEN'S SIZES!!!!
I bought these on a recommendation from one of my customers who was a retired retailer of tactical goods (including Rocky boots). I usually get Danner, but they were out of stock of my usual boots, so I decided to try Rocky. The good: * They looked extremely sharp when new (one of my coworkers noticed them the first day because they were so spiffy) * The tread provides great grip in all conditions I've tried. * The weight is good. * The waterproofing seems good. * The composite toe and leather upper seem to be solid and durable. * The price was reasonable. The bad: * The EE toe box is narrower than what I'm used to. I've adjusted, but the first few days were uncomfortable. * I'm used to having hooks on the ankle portion of the boot. These have eyelets, which means tedious tightening of the laces when putting the boots on, and tedious loosening when removing the boots, and this is necessary to limit the sliding of my heel in the counter of the boot. * The boots are extremely stiff, and the padding in all areas is only adequate. * No loop at the back of the collar to assist in donning the boots. * The same deep monster tread that provides great traction also provides deep grooves that hold onto mud and debris from outside. The tread blocks also make it difficult to don shoe covers when entering homes. * I don't expect these to last more than a year. My usual boots typically last 2-3 years and are more comfortable over the entire life (including straight out of the box). Overall, I'm glad I gave these a try, but probably will not purchase them again. If your foot shape is different than mine, they may fit better. If your job requirements are different, some of my complaints may not apply to you. If these last for the year that I expect them to, I'll consider to have gotten my money's worth.
I bought a pair of these boots over a year ago in my normal size and extra wide. The size was small so I tried to order another pair a size larger 10/2015 they were sold out I was told they would be in stock in 12/2015 never showed up then told they were going to arrive 2/2016 never arrived then told they would be in stock 3/2016 never arrived now they no longer carry extra wide. had to buy a pair of wide. They may be wide on a child's foot but they are what other companies would call standard. Very unhappy not even willing to go through the hassle of sending them back instead I will throw them in the trash and right it off as a lesson in doing business with a company that obviously don't care about their customers.
Rocky use to make comfortable boots that held up for at least 6 months.. The new boots are very uncomfortable, sizing is off and they never break in. I tried to wear them for a month and ended up going with a different brand. Bring back the old!
