These are good for my husband who works in retail. Although he goes through socks like crazy, it doesn't hurt to buy 2 packs so he's not wearing the same ones over and over.
I try to buy the same type of black socks for work, so I don't have to try to pair them out of the laundry. These work well, don't fade too fast, and are soft enough for the price. They wear out at the heel first, but generally hold up well with sneaker type work shoes.
These socks are inexpensive and it shows somewhat in the quality. They are "athetic socks," so I did expect them to be thin in certain places. However, the leg frabric is especially thin or loose as though it might tear easily and the rest of the sock does not seem particularly durable. The price is right but remember: you get that for which you pay (you get what you pay for).
Very thin sock. Bought for my husband because we like the brand Athletic Works, but not great material for this sock. We choose to buy online so as not to go in store during this " pandemic " time. Options to choose for lots of things at this time pretty limited, but he needed socks.
I ordered these socks for my husband and as I washed them first thing out of the package . They are very thin , cheap socks and once washed even worse. My husband did wear a pair and there is absolutely no cushy feel like other socks he has had and these socks are basically wear once and then use as rags. The top of the socks are like twisted and the socks look all out of shape , after one wash look like they have been worn for years. I wouldn't order these again as they are just too cheaply made and not worth even the low cost they were. If I had not washed them all I would have returned them to Walmart. If you want decent socks don't get these.
Not only were these socks super thin they were also small. I'm a size 11 to 11.5 and these socks were not big enough for my feet. I also ordered the white ones and the same held true for those. And to make matters worse there were socks missing from the packets. Terrible experience.! Oh, and one last thing. Walmart's online return process is cumbersome to say the least. It took me a half hour to figure it out.
I bought dozens of these socks over the years, which used to be made with mostly cotton. However, Athletic Works has replaced cotton with lycra spandex. When I ordered my last pack and found out the socks were made with lycra spandex, I tried to return them to Walmart. Walmart refunded the money but let me keep them, so I tried wearing them. I hate these socks so much -- they made my feet itchy and stinky -- that I ended up throwing all of them away soon afterward.
These socks were so horrible, after trying 2 pairs (thinking the first one must have just been screwed up), I gave them to a homeless man rather than throw them out. The heel did not stay on the heel, so the sock rotated around in my shoe. They would not stay up on the leg and they kept the moisture in and my feet got wet in my sneakers.
VERY CHEAPLY MADE!! I use to buy these in the store (Titusville, Fl) but then they were discontinued. So I found them on their web site. Husband wears them with his steel toed work boots (that is require for his line of work). After just 2 wears there is holes in the toes of both socks. When I was buying them from the actual store he would wear them out after about a year. I would give this a big fat "0" stars if I could.
January 2020, NOW GARBAGE. These socks used to be great, I've been buying them for about 10 years, but of course they changed them and now they are paper thin garbage. I will no longer be buying these socks, and for being made in the USA they should be ashamed because these are lower quality then China made socks now. When you put these on you can clearly see your toes right through the sock because they are no longer reinforced like they used to be, it's the same material but gray. I will check them in store and if they change them back I will update my review, but in the meantime I would not use these for even casual use.
