I like this kind of shoe for the snow or colder temperatures during the winter storm. I could get colder by a draft in the door in a building. If it rains and is cold that turns into freezing rain.

I've been buying these for several year. They usually last 2 seasons, but we work them hard. 2.5 mile hikes one way to get to town. Lightweight, warm - even if you breakthru ice and fill boot with water tends to warm up pretty quick, laces last duration of boot. My only criticism, hence the 4 star, is that I get breakthrough from the hollow waffle sole thru the liner after first season. Makes boot uncomfortable and although another season is still in the boot - either put up with it or start stuffing boot which is hit or miss. Overall a good boot, but needs some improvement.
