This is the “Casio Royale,” a classic watch deserving of all its fame. It looks great, has a 10 year battery, and is great in the water (I recently took it to the beach and did pool swimming). The face is a bit easy to scratch though and the analog clock in the top left is annoyingly difficult to read
this has gotten me more positive attention from my watch than even my luxury watches. I feel like I'm right back in the 80s with my calculator watch too and I could not be happier with this. super high quality and is already stood up to at least working out, showering, in and out of the gym and even dressed up in a three-piece suit.
The Casio AE1200 has an almost cult following even with luxury watch collectors. This version gives an almost custom look compared to the other versions that are available almost anywhere. The silver and grey i have so far only found directly from Casio or through Walmart Online. Its a great value for a low cost.
Price was reasonable -- though SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER than for the same product before the regime's tariffs, so if you want one, I strongly recommend you order now rather than later. Ordered it because The Atlantic's 2024-09 essay recommended it ("The Perfect Watch Costs $20: In its gray digital face, I've found a little piece of my past." - https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2024/09/casio-world-time-perfect-watch/679858/ ) as did other review sites (https://www.gearpatrol.com/watches/a523828/casio-world-time-watch/ )
Sold as describe the bracelet is not made of steel, but it's functional. It looks good and the glass cover is a plastic resin. But considering the price and functionality is a very good value. This watch does not need any adjusting out of the box.
My first watch although not mechanical is very useful and stylish goes with my all grey out fit And is my first watch besides my Apple Watch in my collection
I'm really disappointed in the quality of the face. I thought paying more it would be a better quality like a better metal but it feels plastic and cheap. I would recommend though in case like it breaks or something or getting it scratched but for looks it's a no.
The resin case is a gold color that leans more towards an attractive bronze, with a very fine metallic grain to it. Nicknamed by watch enthusiasts the Casio Royale after Fleming's 1953 book, “Casino Royale,” it was never worn by 007, but this model definitely gives off a Bond vibe without looking childish. I wish the buckle were metal. The amber backlight gives good legibility in the dark. I wear it to work in an office setting. Comfortable, accurate and with considerable eye appeal, I recommend it.
My casio watch arrived in a timely fashion but i was immediately disappointed when I noticed a hige scratch running across the glass . It must-have been damaged before it was picked because the box was not damaged.
Nice looking but was flimsy with a thin band, complicated to set up and instructions lettering was tiny. Not to my liking returned this one the following day an exchanged for a Timex Ironman. My reasons for acquiring the Casio was for a 7 walk in Spain, dual time was one feature I liked and also an alarm. The Ironman offered the same and I am very happy I made the switch, you won't need a magnifying glass to read the instructions with the Ironman. Buen camino.
