I like the microphone since there is an echo effect. Very good if you do singing in your vlog. Noise cancelling is really effective. The only thing that might be a little hassle is that when you are listening to the recording is to remove the plug to your phone or otherwise buy a headset to connect to the microphone to play an audio.
Surprisingly good for the price point. Arrived very well packaged. Instructions were a 6/10 but enough to do what was needed. It was plug and play with zero compatibility issues, using Windows 10. My application is voiceovers and it does really well for that purpose. cannot speak to the compatibility with zoom or other similar uses. The sound quality is great. The echo knob has a little static when you rotate it, probably a bad ground, but it is quiet when it is left in position. The effect itself leaves alot to be desired but that's not why I bought it anyway so I just leave it turned all the way down. The volume knob and mute button are solid. The noise cancelling was much better than expected. The base is solid steel, very heavy, no issues with stability. This is a solid purchase in my opinion.
I have a Yeti ultimate USB (about one year now.) I couldn't figure out hardly which is the front and which is the back. I could never turn down the volume. No matter how you set the gain/volume buttons it started at 3/4 volume. Well this Mercase USB is not only very compact/durable it gives you complete control it went from zero and up to where I wanted it. It got loud after turning up just a bit.(not even a quarter) But I had the mic right in front of me. And I could still set it great on volume. The echo button worked great. I LOVE THIS MIC!!!! I won't even give my Yeti mic a glance. That thing has been a pain in the butt since I bought it. But this Mercase knocked Yeti out of the park. And half the price even. It's a no brainer. So glad I looked at the good ratings and bought it. I use it with NCH MixPad. (You have to unplug the mic if using head phones to listen to the recording from the computer. )
This microphone has exceeded my expectations. The build quality is impressive, with a body, frame, and stand made of metal. It is somewhat heavy, which makes it stable no matter where it is placed. The hinges are easily adjusted and stay in place quite well. The buttons seem like they will stand constantly adjusting. The metal grill also feels like quality. Installation is easy as it is a plug-and-play device. Windows and Mac OS recognized it immediately. It is connected via a legacy USB cable, which I would’ve preferred a USB-C (or USB-A 3.0). No matter, the cable is of decent length, is not too stiff, and stays put once connected. The microphone picks up voice quite well. Even though I was about 2 feet away. Based on some recordings I made with the mic, my voice came in naturally with a slight bass boost, which I like. The included foam pop blocker filtered the hard sounds well. I tried dictation mode on Word, and it did rather well. I did not really have use for the echo feature, but it is good to have the option. Also, I appreciate that there’s a 3.5mm input for headphone monitoring. In the end, you can’t go wrong with this mic. The impressive build quality, ease of use, decent voice pick-up, and great price point earn an easy recommendation.
I got this thing so that I could start reading audiobooks on contract. the sound quality of this mic is very nice and it's super easy to hook up to a phone for recording. I'm really surprised for how cheap it is overall. The weight of the mic is substantial and feels like quality.
Great for our daughter to make ASMR recordings.
4 stars because of price and value. 1 big negative tho is the volume of the mic is super loud even on lowest setting and you need to be about 4 feet away from mic to not get distorted vocals.
The microphone worked well for a few days then it just stopped working. Troubleshooting actions have not been successful so far. Will probably have to return it.
Broke upon setting up. Even so it happened once I got it to work with a different cable. Sucked ahh literally.
