This product is SO hard to come by, Puffed cereals are no longer in stores. Not only did I get his on time BUT the bagged cereal was packed so well. Thank you., Walmart, you are better than Santa Claus.
This cereal is sold in store.....Kroger 35 cents less and can buy as few as you like. With this being said.....for an unknown reason Walmart recently discontinued selling the 'Alf's brand of red puffed wheat which is produced at the same factory as Arrowhead Mills. It is the exact same item only it sold for $1.00 per 6 ounce sack. It was difficult to get because they only stocked 12 at a time. Because of the demand many customers bought out the complete 12 if it was on the shelf. (Me included) I and others have requested Walmart to get it back in their stores only stock it like they do other cereals. This red wheat is great because it does not get soggy even to the last bite. It is great nutrition....one of the few cereals that are not sweet so perfect for diabetics and with the low cost it was a big help to low income families. Now that I see this ad I am thinking that Walmart decided they could make more money if they switched brands. Not a nice move on Walmart's part. Perhaps and here's hoping they will reconsider and stock it again.
good for people with low to no sugar needs
I liked plain puffed wheat/rice as a kid and was delighted to see them at Walmart online. It takes a bit rough due to the bran.
I have been having trouble finding puffed wheat cereal that didn't have a sugar or honey coating. It was nice to finally be able to get the cereal just plain!
I like plain, unsweetened, puffed wheat. I eat it as a snack (no milk) and like the taste. I have purchased 3 cases so far, eating about 2 to 3 bags a week. A whole bag is about 660 calories without milk.
tastes fine
SO hard to find puff wheat. I'm glad I was able to find this cereal for my dad. But would be nice to find it at the local store, then I wouldn't of had to order a whole case.
Not as good as Kroger had however they discontinued so this is the best I can find to replace it.
I always get the puffed rice and this time I added the puffed wheat also. It turned out to be too crunchy and not like the softer ones I used to find in the store when they had it. I am now stuck with many bags that will take a long time to eat.
