Merkury 8 outlet surge protector - I switched internet providers and changed my phone over to VOIP and needed to be able to plug all this stuff in in my home office. this outlet was perfect - low profile and outlets on the front and sides allowed me to plug everything in - modem, router, voip device, phone, lamp and night light 👍

Hum
This has a lot of sockets that are spaced apart enough for multiple plugs to fit. The added USB ports lowers the need for as many plugs, however. It's a nice design feature. I do hear the device humming when I plug in my phone. It can sometimes draw me away from any music or audio book that I'm listening to at the time.

Works perfectly for the money!
Works perfectly in my home with energy hogs that I can just flip a switch and shut them all down for the day to save on money. Surge protection is a bonus. Fits well on the outlet without being overly big.

Functional but very inconvenient
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This surge protector was received free in exchange for an honest review. It is unfortunately very inconvenient because it takes up two outlets so cannot be used if one outlet is switched. Seems to function ok.
