Merkury Innovations Smart Plug, Requires 2.4Ghz Wifi

I received a Merkury Innovations smart wifi plug. Note that this does require 2.4 GHz wifi. Setup was a breeze and it paired nicely with the Alexa. This plug is easy to use with voice commands with Alexa. As for the app, it is convenient to use and turn your smart plug on and off remotely. I am able to turn my lamp on remotely, to make it appear as if I am home even if I am not. This is a freaky nice safety feature for me being a single female. I plan on buying more of these for other rooms in my house. They are great if you want to convert your home into more of a smart home.

This Smart Plug is so simple to connect- just like connecting any Bluetooth device! Took me all but 1-2 minute to Download app, register, and connect. I like that it doesn't take over/block the other socket in the wall. You can set an alarm to turn it he device off or on. I have an iPhone so it was the same way I set my daily alarms, so it was really simple for me. Testing was fun as I had my young children involved but they were amazed that I was able to set the fan to come on before we got back to the house. I haven't tried it with anything heavy duty such as my AC but that's because my AC has a timer on it already. Overall, I think this is a pretty easy gadget to use and I'm not the most tech savvy mom lol. I certainly can use at least to be more of these smart plugs!

The Merkury Innovations Wi-Fi Smart Plug is a great addition to any smart home. It uses 2.4 wifi, is easy to install and easy to set up. I like the ability to control my appliances and like that it works with google and can be controlled with the app or by voice. Great addition in my home.

This is my second Merkury device that I buy. Each one was super easy to start using. They both respond extraordinarily fast. I just love the fact I don't need to get up and turn off my fan anymore. It also has many features like how many bourse you want it on, set up a time you want it on or off. You can also group all your Merkury devices. Just so convenient. My other device is a multi color lightbulb. Oh did I mention you can turn the plug manually too!

This thing could not be easier to setup. Just download the app and connect. I use it along side a camera on my 3d printer so I can monitor long prints when im away from home. It always works when I need to power off the printer remotley. Ive never had any connection issues common with most wifi devices. If the power goes out or I need to unplug my router for whatever reason it always auto connects without me doing anything.

We have purchased 4 of these. They are great and work as good as the name brand ones. Keep in mind in case no one told you: the more you add to your wifi, the more it bogs it down. If you are trying to make your home a smart house, up your bandwidth before adding little things like these plugs all over the house.

I will admit that I had no idea how to use a smart plug. I was a little nervous but this smart plug from Merkury was so easy to use and understand. The instructions were easy peasy and I set it up right away. What I love the most about this smart plug is that I can set my electronics up before I am even in my house!! My favorite is getting my coffee maker to start coffee before I get home from work. By the time I get home, my coffee is ready with no effort from me! I am so excited to learn more about the world of smart devices and I know I can trust Merkury products along the way.

I am enjoying these smart plugs. They are convenient and super easy to set up. I have other smart plugs but these works as well with Alexa and are way less expensive. I have hooked mine into my coffee machine and it has my coffee waiting for me. Super fun! Great help on Crazzy Mornings!!

It works great and turns on and off per the schedule i set without fail for a month now! However, I took a star off because 99% of time the app shows it offline even after it turns on, and it will not respond to manually turning it on or off thru the app...big problem is being away from home and checking to make sure it turned on is futile! Since I'm home all the time I see it does turn my lamp on every evening. There have been times I went in to change schedule in app and it would go off line making it impossible, so I have to hurry before this happens. I use a very expensive Nighthawk router and the plug is only 15 feet across room and it is on a 2.4 network along with their outside front and back door smart bulbs(which work perfect btw) and it always shows a great wifi connection and updated to latest firmware after initial install...it needs to be tweeked with app in another update! I also have their indoor camera on this network that works somewhat good but has problems staying connected and seems to have a problem in micro plug to camera causing this...this needs to be upgraded to a different plug type!!

I was so excited to receive this smart plug but was extremely disappointed because I can't get this plug to work no matter what I try. I have literally exhausted all attempts. I own two other brands of smart plugs and had absolutely no trouble at all connecting those. I have literally tried everything over and over many times and still doesn't work and it's beyond frustrating. I downloaded the app and registered and I know that it only works on 2g (not 5g) and I know my WiFi password is correct. I have reset my router and also deactivated everything in my home that's on wifi (as suggested if there's a weak wifi signal) and none of these steps worked. I just keep getting the error message unable to add device. I figured maybe for some reason, it's possible it's my phone and not the device so I had my husband try it on his phone (I have an iPhone and he has a Android) and he got the same results. I guess it's possible I received a defective plug because like I said, nothing I try works. I even tried to use the Alexa app to add the plug but that didn't work either so I can't recommend this product because unfortunately, it just doesn't work for some reason.
