Merkury Innovations Smart Plug, Requires 2.4Ghz Wifi

I received a Merkury Innovations smart wifi plug. Note that this does require 2.4 GHz wifi. Setup was a breeze and it paired nicely with the Alexa. This plug is easy to use with voice commands with Alexa. As for the app, it is convenient to use and turn your smart plug on and off remotely. I am able to turn my lamp on remotely, to make it appear as if I am home even if I am not. This is a freaky nice safety feature for me being a single female. I plan on buying more of these for other rooms in my house. They are great if you want to convert your home into more of a smart home.

This Smart Plug is so simple to connect- just like connecting any Bluetooth device! Took me all but 1-2 minute to Download app, register, and connect. I like that it doesn't take over/block the other socket in the wall. You can set an alarm to turn it he device off or on. I have an iPhone so it was the same way I set my daily alarms, so it was really simple for me. Testing was fun as I had my young children involved but they were amazed that I was able to set the fan to come on before we got back to the house. I haven't tried it with anything heavy duty such as my AC but that's because my AC has a timer on it already. Overall, I think this is a pretty easy gadget to use and I'm not the most tech savvy mom lol. I certainly can use at least to be more of these smart plugs!

The Merkury Innovations Wi-Fi Smart Plug is a great addition to any smart home. It uses 2.4 wifi, is easy to install and easy to set up. I like the ability to control my appliances and like that it works with google and can be controlled with the app or by voice. Great addition in my home.

We have purchased 4 of these. They are great and work as good as the name brand ones. Keep in mind in case no one told you: the more you add to your wifi, the more it bogs it down. If you are trying to make your home a smart house, up your bandwidth before adding little things like these plugs all over the house.

As a family that is moving forward with technology, I love that Merkury Innovations has created a smart Wi-Fi smart plug. All I had to do was download the Geeni app to my smart phone and setup. I chose to use this smart plug with my coffee maker because I often worry about forgetting to turn it off when I leave my home. With this plug, it's just one less thing to worry about! It works well with my google assistant. Such a handy little device that I will definitely be purchasing a few more of this smart plugs!

Sometimes it's just the little things that can make a big impact and this is a great example of that. I use this in my living room for a light that is necessary to use but in a very inconvenient spot to turn off and on, I literally dread doing so every day. I now have this connected to my phone so now no more tripping over things or hitting my head! It was really easy to set up as well!

It's really easy to use. Install the app and then connect it to your other apps (like Alexa, SmartHome, etc). Integration is excellent. Does exactly what it says it does. For a simple experience, use the greeni app. For routines and iftt, enable greeni skill in Alexa and the possibilities are pretty much endless. Like that it only uses up one outlet on a power strip. Considerate design. Price is pretty good, too.

I am enjoying these smart plugs. They are convenient and super easy to set up. I have other smart plugs but these works as well with Alexa and are way less expensive. I have hooked mine into my coffee machine and it has my coffee waiting for me. Super fun! Great help on Crazzy Mornings!!

This device works great & is easy to use for what it does. It allows you to turn an outlet on & off from virtually anywhere using the mobile app. It fits in a standard outlet without blocking other outlet, which I really like. However, it only works with things like coffee makers or lamps (light bulbs) that can be left with the switch on so when you turn the Merkury plug on it turns on whatever is plugged into it. With things like TVs that need to be powered up with a separate remote you would only be able to turn off with this device, not turn on. When installing the Geeni app on my phone, it continuously asked for my location. I generally only allow location services on apps that absolutely need it. The constant request for location was annoying.

I was so excited to receive this smart plug but was extremely disappointed because I can't get this plug to work no matter what I try. I have literally exhausted all attempts. I own two other brands of smart plugs and had absolutely no trouble at all connecting those. I have literally tried everything over and over many times and still doesn't work and it's beyond frustrating. I downloaded the app and registered and I know that it only works on 2g (not 5g) and I know my WiFi password is correct. I have reset my router and also deactivated everything in my home that's on wifi (as suggested if there's a weak wifi signal) and none of these steps worked. I just keep getting the error message unable to add device. I figured maybe for some reason, it's possible it's my phone and not the device so I had my husband try it on his phone (I have an iPhone and he has a Android) and he got the same results. I guess it's possible I received a defective plug because like I said, nothing I try works. I even tried to use the Alexa app to add the plug but that didn't work either so I can't recommend this product because unfortunately, it just doesn't work for some reason.
