I bought this shoe to shoot precision rifle matches for good grip on stages that you have to climb on. Solid as a rock. Have walked through snow and puddles with them on and dry feet. Great shoe.
Perfect shoe for trail running or an all-terrain waterproof sneaker. I also wear mine when I work on the grounds crew at a local golf course. No more morning dew making my socks wet for the whole day!
The Agility Peak shoe is very light and very comfortable. I feel like I could stand or walk for a long time wearing these shoes. Having Gore - Tex makes it even better, you can wear it in any type of weather
Very comfortable and is really waterproof. It is not heavy and easy to put on
I ordered size 10 and fit is perfect.very good stability and good traction.
One big issue I have is the toe area. Everytime I take a step and lift my foot, it sounds and feels (on your toes) like plastic popping back in place. Luckily I use these for bike riding. But is annoying when I'm walking in them.
Toe box and sole requires more padding. You can feel the cleats when walking. The cleats seem to protrude through the soles to the bottom of your feet. Suggest beefing up the insole, especially in the toe box area.
Toe box isn't padded enough. You can feel the cleats through the sole of the shoes, especially in the toe box area. Would benefit from beefing up the sole of these shoes.
Shoe fits great and looks good however there isn't enough padding in the sole and I feel everything as I trail run, even feel the shoes own lugs. I tried putting in a thicker insole but then it made the shoe too small for me. I'm right at a 12 but could use a 12.5 however Merrell doesn't make half sizes above 12z
Why do you guys take a shoe that people love for several generations largely because of the fabled Merrell fit, and change it without warning to a completely different last that changes the volume in the toe box? There is only sizing fine print "True to size with secure run-ready fit." That described the Peak 5 for me, so it raised no alarms. It's looking like I will have to return these without even trying them outside to see if they will stretch any. The reinforcement at the bottom of the lace area makes it even worse by tightening down the restriction right where the foot has to flex. I would have to go to the absolute thinnest of socks to even make them bearable, and I can't even imagine wearing them for any length of time on a hot mountain day when after a couple of hours your foot will swell a bit. My climbing shoes are more comfortable than these and easier to get on. If you change the last, make a new model or option and keep the old one, or suggest a different option. At least put a wide option (not sure it would help) on the Goretex version and warn people.
