I bought this yesterday, after literally trying every dog food out there.. From Go, Now, Fromm, Orijen, Acana.. my dog wouldn't eat any of them... I brought this home yesterday and he has mowed it down like no other. He loves it!! I have a 2 year old golden retriever and couldn't be happier.
We have been feeding our Great Dane Backcountry for quite a while and we are thrilled with the results. Having a large dog, it give us piece of mind knowing we are doing the best for our dog in nutrition as well as providing the vital supplements of glucosamine and chondroitin for a large breed. This food satisfies at each meal with good nutritious food for our picky eater. Read your labels pet owners and don't be fooled by the brand and product names! This is the real deal & we highly recommend Backcountry to everyone who asks what we feed our beautiful boy!
This is all I feed my dog. He's a bullmastiff mix and a very picky eater. Once I put him on this food, his coat got soooo soft and his weight got much healthier. He eats the whole bowl (he never did that with his last food) and is doing great. Been buying this food for a year now, and I feel no need to switch anytime soon.
I have a 6 month old bullmastiff puppy. I switched her from blue's wilderness to the backcountry puppy food and it has been the best move I've made. She is now close to 90 lbs and the vet as well as her trainer are both impressed on the fact that she is keeping a good weight - not going through a gangly stage. The other comment I hear frequently is "whoa - she's solid; there's no fat" ... "what do you feed her"? And from a "clean up standpoint", this food has been great for her tummy and yard clean up! I feed her 2.5 cups in the morning and 2 cups plus Instinct Raw frozen food in the evening. She's beautiful and healthy and it shows.
I bought the food 2 months ago and my dogs look and act some much happier and energetic.
I was using purina pro plan for sensitive stomach for about 1 1/2 years when suddenly Jazz stopped eating. 3 days she wouldn't touch the food. I was worried she had a blockage and called the vet, thankfully nothing. I remembered how much she liked the Merrick my aunt feeds her dogs so I bought a bag filled her bowl and she devoured it! She has always had a sensitive stomach and the previous foods I tried she would have diarrhea, vomiting or both. NOT WITH MERRICK!! She has been eating it for almost 2 years and gets so excited at feeding time every time. Finally a good that is good for her inside and out and no stomach issues. Thank you Merrick!
Bought it a few weeks ago though I find he is consuming more of it then of the wild back country blends to be satisfied, maybe we should go back to more exotic wild blends. Ruger my 80lb 18 month old GSD. I eat local sourced raw, my best friends my butcher from Local Provisions in Laconia NH.
I have been through multiple brands, lines and flavors with my finicky 8 month old Alaskan Malamute. Finally just got the 'Raw Infused Large Breed' and she seems to love it! Ate 2 full meals when she's usually leaving behind most of her kibble. : -)
Just recently purchased this because I was looking for a good large kibble dog food. The "Raw Chicken" pieces are large but the kibble pieces are not. In fact they are smaller than some of the normal food that I buy. (example: Taste of the Wild) My Dakotah did eat 4 handfuls right off but later he shied away from it. I would recommend it, but with reservations.
My dog is 2-1/2 and ive been buying your food exclusively. The last 2 bags: one had no chunks of chicken so I returned and got another..now this bag has maybe 20 pieces. The chunks are the REASON i buy yours!! Im furious and my dog just looks at me and walks away and waits until late night so you are messing up his routine too. So hes NOT getting the ingredients listed on the bag. Time to switch brands i guess....
