When my dogs' old food brand merged with another company, I was on the hunt for a new grain-free food for my dogs. I read many review sites and decided on Merrick's Grain Free Real Texas Beef & Sweet Potato Recipe. My dogs absolutely LOVE their new food and I love that I'm paying less for a higher quality food.
I am impressed by hte fact that everything is locally sourced and grain free. One of our dogs is an 11 year old Border Collie who is Blind, Deaf and also Diabetic. She also is showing signs of Arthritis. This food has Glucosamine and Chondroitin. We have seen a noticeable improvement in her mobility since we started feeding her this.
Our beloved thirteen-year-old terrier has diabetes. The vet had her on w/d prescription diet but the amount of insulin I gave her kept going up. I searched for food for diabetic dogs and found this food. She has been on it three weeks and what a difference! She is still on insulin but it is stabilized. She is playing like her old puppy self. The difference is amazing. We also bought grain-free canned to mix in. So far, I cannot say enough good about this dog food.
I've been feeding my 8 month Australian Shepherd with "Eukanuba Naturally Wild" but since he was having very inconsistent bowel movements I decided to change his food. I did some research and after visiting Merricks' booth at the Reliant Park World Series, there was no question about it that I was going to try Merrick! We just started with the Beef Recipe, can't wait for next couple of weeks to start seeing a change in his coat and health... so far, Mr. Pixel is loving it!!
I rescued buddy on 01-27-15 he was 38 pounds I started him off with what I thought was a top of the line food his coat was dry he had a rash on his belly . So i started to do some research bought my first bag of texas beef grain free merrick the next week by the end of the month and the bag his coat was softer shedding had slowed and rash was healing half wat thew the next bag merrick grain free duck shedding had stopped rash was gone thank you for producing the best quality food for are pets This is buddy today 04-13-15 a happy healthy 49 pounds
I was feeding this to my bullmastiff but switched to Acana when I realized you sold out to Purina and couldn't guarantee the source of your ingredients. My dog is my family and I rather pay more than feed an inferior sell-out. Very disappointed in your company.
I have had my dog on this food for about 8 years, It was helpful for her joints but since Purina took over she has been having trouble with her skin and very dry paws. I have learned that Purina has bought this company. My dog has an allergy to Purina and I don't know what has changed but her problems started since Purina has taken over. I had to change products.I had bought last week one of the Merrick wet food and mixed with the dry and her back became very red a raw after consuming.
