Meta Quest Pro VR Headset

The product speaks for itself, it was described exactly as it came in the box, I'm excited to begin my new virtual reality experience. Walmart made it easy to buy it.

The Quest Pro is a very good headset, but it feels like Meta released this technology a little too early. It performs well overall, and while the Quest 3 is the better headset for most people, the Quest Pro still has a lot going for it, especially if you use it for PCVR. It is not the best choice for standalone gaming, but it works much better as a tool for PCVR and mixed-use setups. It is also a strong option for face tracking in VRChat, and if you use Meta Horizon Worlds, it can handle that well too, though VRChat is where it really makes more sense for me. The setup is pretty straightforward, which makes it easy to get started, although it could be a little shorter and smoother. The image quality is excellent for the most part, but the pancake lenses do create noticeable reflections and glare, which is disappointing on a headset this expensive. The headstrap could definitely be more comfortable, but after some adjustment and getting used to it, it becomes very usable for longer sessions. The headset feels high quality, has solid battery life, and the controllers are excellent. Tracking is also reliable most of the time, with only rare issues. Overall, it is a well-built headset with great features, but it works best for people who know exactly what they want out of it.

So since I couldn't find it anywhere on the page, I'll state this product is new. At least the one I got was. There's no issues with the face tracking, no issues with the controllers or the charging dock. I do regret I didn't get the Allstate warranty, I thought I could add it after purchase, I was wrong.

Easy to use, microphone is too close to your mouth, it makes it easy for the mic to make things much louder.

reviewing the Quest Pro, so Im going to directly compare this to the Quest 3. They are my only two references. Pros: lens adjustment is superior, head strap is superior and boast comfort, it has a charging dock, it comes with a lens protector, the controllers are simply better in every technical way, has eye tracking, and the entire system looks better. Despite the laundry list of pros, there are some blatant Cons: The image is slightly grainier, its refesh rate is 90hz, and its 1000$. Things to Note: the Quest Pro has mlre comfort/facial adjustments, but with modern headset mods, the comfort can be remedied for a fraction of the proce for the quest 3, of necessary. So, as of Dec 2024, I have to be honest... the quest 3 shines in all the right places. I cannot recommend the pro over the 3 for any audience. The buttery smooth and crystal clear imaging easily makes up for its physical compromises.

The face tracking itself is pretty good compared to its competitors. I would say what made me want to trash it is the terrible controllers, horrible tracking for things that have a system inside to track themselves BY themselves along with Meta changing the controllers to charge only (while only providing one cord) they have a horrible life span and start bugging terribly when low. Also without forgetting they have trouble tracking with far too many things that can apparently intervene with it (shiny floor, LED, BASE STATIONS etc..) The quality isn't even good either, the lens rims have a constant annoying light FROM the lens that cant be ignored. The light reflecting off the material makes it super hard to see and focus in darker places you go on VR. The controllers also chip very easy almost like it was just paint, and they should really consider a breathable material considering people are to use it longer than 10 minutes you know. Also, what is the point of taking off the top support strap..? It did nothing but make it MORE uncomfortable on the head and forehead. All that being said, starting the Meta setup was the worst ever, it was extremely laggy and just took forever to get through because its connection or something was that bad (No, my Wi-Fi was perfect at that time, no issues) With all that in mind, not at all worth the money its just greedy. The only reason to get it is, its the only good all-in-one face tracking on the market. Wish I could just buy the headset alone and get a pair of index controllers in substitute. Almost forgot to mention.. The charge station doesn't even seem to work, useless.

Was not impressed with it, for the amount of money I spent on something like this. I expect it to be working properly after all the updates and no issues. I had many issues, including the controllers stop tracking for no reason. I'm in a welder area and the lights are not that bright to line the cameras. Sometimes when I walk out of the safe zone and then come back, it won't automatically reconnect and I can't do anything so I have to restart the headset. The quality of the controllers seemed fine at first, but something on the edges of the controllers are starting to peel after only three weeks of use. And on the outside of the lenses, it's getting some type of spots or something that is slightly obstructing my vision on the outside of it. (probably from heat.) the eye and face tracking work pretty good no complaints there.

When bought was ok. The headset came boxes and new, but straight out of the box, the right controller had problems. it didn't want to connect, and it took multiple resets for it to finally work. after setting up the headset, the right controller had an overheating message. I have 2 other pairs of these quest pro controllers, and this usually only happened after long play sessions or charging. I set it down for 30 mins, like it said, and 5 mins after, I started using it, it gave a shutdown warning again. this time, I knew it was cool, so I restarted it. it still shut down. it went on for hours, untill I gave up and paired a spare controller. Then I had to do stuff, and I left the headset plugged up for half a week. I come back, and it updated. it came with the old ui and software. When it updated, it basically broke it. Feature, that let you double tap the headset, was turned on. how I found out? I whipped my head around to see something in vr, and passthrough mode turned on. I went into the settings, because I remembered I could turn that off. NOPE. They REMOVED THE SWITCH to turn OFF the double tap. and apparently, after 4 months of backlash, it's still BROKEN AND MISSING. The pro is much more sensitive too the double tap, compared to the 2 and 3. But that's not all! I CANT ROLL BACK THE UPDATE, OR SIDE LOAD ANYTHING. ITS LOCKED DOWN. I bought this for the face tracking, and open design of the faceplate. But I've returned it for horrible and degrading os, controller that didn't work/broken out of the box, and it's meta. Do NOT buy. This will probably be bricked sooner or later, and it costed me almost the price of the steam frame, which is what I've signed up for. Do not buy, I repeat, do not buy. Some videos may fool you, but do. not. buy.

Would not power in, small flickering in lenses, called to return and was told this item open box cannot return. went into local Walmart and was told this is third party perches there was nothing else they could do. I took the chance to mail it in to Walmart returns address and the item disappeared. Just an awful online exp.

Headset was glitchy and face tracking did not work no matter what I did. If you want this headset i recommend buying it off the meta quest website and only that website. This is the second headset I've bought second hand and didn't work. Such a shame. Pretty sure it's a fake headset.
