I had previously purchased the 6 1/2 inch 18 volt circular saw. I then turned that into my track saw due to its portablily and ease of use. Then I needed to replace that with the 7 1/4 cordless circular saw. There was no debate on the brand I wanted. All of my cordless power tools are Metabo. Over the years I started replacing all of my corded power tools with Metabo brand. I started out with Hitachi corded power tools. I keep those as backups should the occasion arise. So far, the cordless power tools I have work as advertised.
The whole package we ordered looks great in the box but we have not tried the tool out yet. We may have purchased the saw at a wee better price but we are very pleased with Walmart's processing.
So far so GOOD! Ripped about 4 8' 2"×4"s slightly damp and treated the past Friday. Didn't wanna lug table saw to jobsite. Big 36v battery and went slow and cut em pretty good. I was impressed.
This saw is a beast! love the "silent mode" and it feels like great quality. Blade right is different, but getting used to it. Other than that, one of my favorite cordless circ saws I've used.
This battery operated circular saw proved to be way better than expected, as it easily cut through heavy, wet 2x6 pressure treated lumber for building the base for a blind far from a power source. Got two batteries when I bought the saw but didn't even use half the power of one battery to get this project going. Decided to get this Metabo saw after purchasing one of their brad nailers for a different project, which performed so beautifully. Worked out to be good decisions on both products. I can highly recommend Metabo battery powered tools.
Awesome saw. Easy to use and plenty of xutting power. Not awkward like some other cordless saws ive owned.
Super smooth and power way beyond what I thought I would get out of an 18 volt tool.
great little saw! rips through osb like paper! It does need to have the larger battery though. It does struggle on thicker stock but I don't think it was meant for that anyway. Use a square to keep aligned when cutting 2x4 or 2x6 because any lateral blade pressure will cause the saw to struggle. it is perfect for hanging off a ladder and cutting out sheathing for window holes and that sort of thing. If you need to cut big stair stringers or thick LVL. you will want to stick to your corded 15 amp saw though.
i found 2 issues i did not like, one the blade has no guide markers to adjust depth of saw blade & base plate has all these triangle ridges which hold a lot of sawdust & is very message when your moving saw around, i understand the manufacture probable done this to ad strength to the plate but its a bit message using saw, other than those 2 issues works great - lots of power on a 4AH battery & light weight, i would recommend this tool! thanks
Professional grade tools at a consumer price. Great saw does a very good job, only thing it could use a tad bit more power but I'm only using a 18 volt battery . But the average homeowner I'm very happy with it.
