Metabo HPT 18V Cordless Driver Kit, 1/4-In Chuck, WH18DEX

After much research, I purchased a Metabo nail gun a few months ago and have been very pleased with its performance. So much so, that when I needed to replace my power driver, I didn't hesitate to invest in Metabo again. It's light, powerful and the price point makes it an excellent choice for a high quality tool.

I bought this because I needed an extra battery and charger to go with a framing nailer I bought. I had been wanting a more compact impact for a while so it made sense to buy it over just buying the kit with two batteries and a charger. It's very comfortable and compact. The trigger has a long travel and is very precise. I used it for changing a wall outlet with a slotted screw and it was no problem. I could have never done that with my old impact from another brand. I thought I would use the old one for heavier jobs but this one is faster and has more power.

You cannot go wrong with Metabo or Hitachi tools. I have been using Metabo angle grinders for years working on steel buildings. Never had a problem with them and never had to replace them. We did replace the others with more Merabos. I had one small issue with a battery that would not charge, its bound to happen to somebody and for a cordless tool that just plain works and does it well, I would deal with a dozen bad batteries. I did not have to because when I called I was given the quickest and easiest solution so that was greatly appreciated. These tools quite simply have more noticable torque and power than any other 18 volt (or 20 volt for that matter) I've ever used. Grip actually feels comfortable and well balanced. When the manual says to set the tool between Forward and Reverse when changing drill bits or screw bits, it's very sound advice. Grabbing and holding the chuck tand squeezing the trigger with a death grip to clamp onto a drill bit is a thing of the past. Again, power and torque are astounding. And the spin up speed is quite responsive as well. I am additionally amazed by the MultiVolt system. That is a possible game changer if you are depending on your tools to pay for the roof over your head and food on your table. I don't really think I can say much about Hitachi tools, they are the reason m family has done away with all other roofing nailers and exclusively use Hitachi. Somehow, in my humble opinion, the 2 best brands joined forces and instead of cutting corners they remain the 2 best, they are simply complimenting each other. TL;DR If you like tools that command respect and yet remain consistent and durable, you cane to the right place. If not, go back and reread my review. I seldom write reviews but sometimes a business and product come along and just deserve to get way more stars then they even asked for. I was not compensated for this review, it is my genuine belief and impression. I did not pay for the tools I am reviewing, my mother is very kind and got these for me as a gift. Puppy dog eyes do not work as well as these tools, result do vary, I will however be buying a multi tool, recip saw and a few others on an as needed basis. And on that note... TL;DR again Just stick with these 2 brands. I can't name one time that they have lost quality or made life anything but easier

Great product. I actually like this better than my dewalt 18 v. would definitely recommend this product and you can't beat the price. Definitely get your money worth and more. Thanks for a great reliable and affordable product.

This impact is awesome. Ergonomics are great and has plenty of power for what I need. Highly recommend.

I bought the 18v Drill/ 1/4 in driver combo to replace an older Porter Cable set I had. The Metabo Tools feel much better in weight and design than my older Porter Cable tools. The are more compact, more power and are built to last. They will serve me well.

I've used this impact on multiple projects and it has always delivered. Strong performance, good balance, and solid build quality. It handles everything I've thrown at it without issues. If I had to do it again, I might choose the triple hammer version, but this model still gets the job done reliably.

I participated with many others in building a new wooden pier for our association. Not only did my new impact driver perform flawlessly but others in the group kept stealing it away when I wasn't looking! Every power tool I purchase from this point forward will be a Metabo.

Well like tool but have same drill switch is going out forgot to fill out warranty card .so i had to buy one

Long time owner/user of Metabo/Hitachi power tools. This purchase was to replace an older Hitachi 18V drill that had finally developed problems. The new DS18DEX drill on first use shuts down when put under a load. After a few seconds and repeatedly pulling trigger it will restart. Currently in mail(I had to pay postage) to a service center for repair. I hope this was just a 1 off problem.
