It is much more convenient and just as powerful as my corded orbital sanders. I will purchase this again in a heartbeat.
This thing definitely gets the job done. Looks great in the shop as well. Very comfortable and work horse.
Was exactly what I needed with cordless feature. Just added another Metabo HPT tool to my collu.
I'm very happy with this sander. with either a 4AH 18 V battery, or a multi volt battery, the tool has plenty of power and runtime. It's also very well balanced, making it easy to maintain even pressure on the workpiece. It's also low vibration so it doesn't fatigue my hand as much as other sanders I've used. Get one!
This orbital sander is an excellent addition to the corded version. The dust collection is strong, and the updated port design is a noticeable improvement over the corded version. Its tighter throw makes it ideal for finishing work, though it's not the best choice for heavy material removal. Even so, it can still handle low‑grit paper like 24‑grit when needed. Battery performance varies with the task. Higher‑grit finishing work offers long runtime, while heavier cleanup with lower grits will drain batteries faster, which is expected for a cordless sander. Overall, this tool is a great fit for finish carpenters, painters, or anyone who needs a mobile option for detailed tasks such as sanding casings and prepping trim.
Metabo donated 2 of these for my Middle School Carpentry Classes. They were great, uses a lot of the battery charge but the students loved them. Unfortunately, one of the students threw away one of the dust collection bags, so I need to find out where I can purchase one.
I would not have realized how getting rid of a cord would have made a difference, but wow. This sander has made my job so much easier, thank you Metabo.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice sander! Good orbital action! Pretty good balance and low vibration! Dust bag sticks out like a sore thumb tho.
I bought this in December ‘25 it's been used to smooth rough cut pine finish boards, sand an antique handrail as well as remove finish off a mid center modern piece of veneered furniture. I struggle with the shut off switch on occasion.
Es muy buena para el trabajo. Pero las bolsas recolectores de polvo se dañan muy rápido o se perforan y el seguro es muy débil se cae con facilidad y no sujeta bien y el polvo se sale
