How light and the amount of cuts you get from one battery is a plus. The handling ergonomics and overall balance is great with this saw. Plenty of power for anything I have encountered so far.
Is a light and powerful saw, very manually, easy to use, battery last longer than other saws that I have.
This saw checks all the boxes for me: light weight, super power, a snagless blade-guard, a fast blade-brake, low noise, high build-quality, a fair price (great value), that handsome Hitachi color-scheme, and more. And while some folks complain that there's no onboard storage for the wrench, there are other convenient places: (1) inside the saw's carry-bag and (2) where you store your replacement blades.
Buddies I work with have the 7 1/4 inch rear handle Makita, Milwaukee, and DeWalt and everyone is drooling about this bad boy. Got all of them convinced to get it. Didn't even say anything just let them all use it for a couple days. This is the Porsche 911 of 7 1/4 rear handle circle saws.
Works great light enough to lug around with no issue. On board rafter hook is small doesn't get in the way while in use. Along withe 8 Amp battery I've been able to use it all day never lacking power to preform cuts or bevels. Lastly the rear handle design makes for easy use and comfortable to use.
Out of all the tools I have this is probably the best one I've bought. I had a brand new DeWalt rear handle cordless saw for about a month. When this came out I snagged one ,after I seen what the weight was. The DeWalt was way too heavy for my torn rotor cuff. This thing has plenty of power & doesn't weigh very much. I have several other metabo tools and their batteries last a long time.
This saw has the weight of a toy, yet it's got power. I looked at a lot of reviews and I settled on this one since I've had bad tennis elbow from driving tons of scews and I'm 57yo. I'm a DIY guy who plans to build a garage and perhaps a house when I retire.
Bought this saw after good experiences with the nailers and really was interested in trying a rear handled saw. I can't believe the power to weight ratio on this saw. First rear handle for me but this makes me want to throw away all my sidewinders and ask myself why I didnt buy one sooner. Excellent battery life on these MV batteries to boot!
Absolutely, hands down, my favorite HPT tool. This thing is a workhorse. It is super light, and after 8 hours framing, you notice the difference. Never, not even once have I felt like it's low on power for cutting through material. Obviously, nothing beats a corded model, but this punches above its' weight class and still has 2 bars left at the end of the day. Rafter hook is sturdy and holds, the blade change wrench is in a great spot, and the depth guide is still butter smooth after banging around in my truck. This rear handle has been a mainstay in my daily loadout, and I'll hurriedly buy the next model when it comes out. The RPM's aren't super high like with other competing brand's models, but this thing is torque-y where it counts and will not let you down. Great value, great build, great saw.
Still haven't gotten my saw back from repair. It's been in metabos repair since June 12th. I get tool repair turnaround but the 5 day promise should be taken off all the paperwork. I love the saw just wish it was back in my hands.
