Best 7 1/4 miter saw ever!!!

tony May 17, 2026

I recently picked up the Metabo 7-1/4 inch miter saw and it's been an absolute beast. It's got dual bevel, which is huge because all other saws this size only tilt one direction. The power is excellent, battery life is fantastic, blade changes are super easy, and the whole saw is surprisingly lightweight and easy to move around. It cuts super clean and dead square every time. I even used it to do all the millwork on a 1.3 million dollar job—9 and 12 inch baseboards, casing, jambs, everything. That little saw handled the whole job without missing a beat. Everything about it is just amazing. Highly recommend.

Incredible, lightweight, powerful

Thaddeus February 14, 2026

I wish they hadnt discontinued this saw. It's the only good saw they have made under the Metabo name. Going from a DeWalt to this was like Christmas morning, it's so smooth!

Exactly what I was looking for

chancey May 30, 2020

I have had this miter saw for a few months now and it has been used in the shop building furniture and in the field for finish carpentry and framing a deck. Overall, I have been very impressed. I was in the market for a compact, lightweight saw that would be easy to load and unload and take up less space in my work vehicle. I was also interested in a saw that would be more precise than the 10" older Makita saw that I have been using. It is very accurate. It cuts very easily and the glide is very smooth. Also Metabo HPT nailed the ergonomics of the handle and I have noticed great ergonomics on several of their other tools. This saw is small but it is very solid and well build. The laser is great and easy to adjust and the lights are a nice feature also. When I began looking for a new saw I was not interested in a battery powered saw as I almost always have access to power since I mostly do renovation, installation and finish carpentry. In addition, I nearly always use a tool actuated vacuum attached to the saw which turns on when you turn the saw on and shuts off when the cut is complete. With the Metabo HPT 7 1/4" miter saw however, you can use the corded adapter to use the saw in conjunction with a tool actuated vacuum. The fan in the battery-shaped corded adapter will kick on after a minute or so and run continuously and consequently I have opted to keep the corded adapter in my work vehicle as a backup power source. Ironically, I have found battery power to be a game changer, saving me time in setup and going between jobs, and I found a solution for dust collection. I purchased a remote switch and used velcro to attach the small remote to the right side of the handle. The vacuum plugs into the receiver switch and it is quite easy to control the vacuum. I actually think I prefer being able to turn on the vacuum and for instance if I am going to make multiple cuts, the vacuum can remain on rather than pulsating on/off with the cord being plugged into the vacuum. After purchasing this saw, I am sold on the Metabo HPT Multivolt line-up. I recently got the 36V 7 1/4" circular saw. I am very pleased with it also and I eagerly await getting the jigsaw when it is available. Very rapidly my tools are turning green.

Awesome Saw

SCMilwork February 16, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect cuts out of the box. If you need a quality miter saw for pre finished work and cabinet installation look no further. Easily transported around the job and 2 batteries get me through the day.

Blows it competition away.

Super Steve January 31, 2023

Being a commercial Builder I have used this saw more than I could have imagined. Cuts of precise, clean and quick. It has paid for itself inside 6 months of my purchase. And the fact that it is as light as a feather and can fit virtually anywhere are a major plus. I have used every battery operated might have saw on the market and none of them come even close.

36v 7-1/4 miter saw

Johnny V January 30, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this saw about 2 years ago And it is amazing!, this was my first multi volt Metabo hpt purchase . And right away before I even used it I knew it was a awesome tool! It's light and powerful. From finish work to cutting framing its handles with ease . I honestly can say this is the best miter saw I have ever used . I have used every other brand and this saw is elite! Since my purchase of this saw I have now sold all of my tools and exclusively use Metabo Hpt 18v-36v the whole line is great . Light wieght and the batteries hold power better then competitors!

So Smooth

Seanob July 12, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the ultimate miter saw. It's accurate with a large capacity and it's so light. I like to run it with the 120v adapter plugged into a dust collector but being able to go cordless is game changing.

Super compact

Ivan08 April 14, 2020

I was looking for a miter saw for some time now, and was debating between getting the Milwaukee 7 1/4 and the Metabo. After watching many videos comparing both I decided to try out the Metabo and put in the order. When it showed up and I unpacked it I was very supersized about how compact the saw is. I found it very easy to transport and sets up very fast. Out of the box it was very well adjusted and for what I'm using it for it was plenty accurate.

If you take pride in your work...

George86 September 30, 2019

I have not used this saw for a long time but so far I am very pleased with it and I can tell it is very well built. This is a 7 1/4” saw with an impressive cutting capacity. It is fairy light weight in comparison to a 12” and very easy to move up and down the stairs. The Metabo miter Stan's that is purchased separately makes it even more maneuverable. I could see how this feature would be very useful to somebody that has to be on multiple jobs during the same week. I got multiple positive comments from other carpenters that got to use this saw on the job so I must not be the only one that likes it. I enjoy having the laser and light for this time of year when the days are getting shorter or when I get to work in a room that doesn't have good lighting. It is very nice to have the convenience of a MultiVolt tool. We have several Multi Volt capable tools on the job and I really don't care at this point when the power company calls and tells me the power will be off fir two hours the next day. I used to have to bring a generator and usually that wasn't enough for everyone. I do try using the AC adapter most of the time just to save on battery life but it is very convenient to be able to run it off a battery at full power when you need to. And yes, there are ways to go around the fact that it only bevels to 45. Any carpenter that takes pride in their work should have one of these.

Smooth Operator

Mc09686 February 4, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was shocked when I made the first cut I questioned if it had actually done it! But indeed it did and it was effortless. This saw has power but is quiet and smooth. The laser and led light are fantastic. This saw is easy to transport. So, it is used on site and in the shop. Dust collection via a vacuum is good and I like the fact that a majority of the dust is projected behind the saw and not out to the left and right. Mitre and bevel adjustments are easy to use. Overall, this saw is well built and is a pleasure to use.
