Even though it's a weird name for a video game, Metaphor is basically Persona 6, without the school setting. Other people are saying it's not only the 2024 Game of the Year, but it's also the Game of the Decade, and I can see why. The voice acting is top-notch, the story is well written and thought-out, and it's a turn-based RPG at its core, which means it automatically gets 5 stars (hear that Final Fantasy? turn-based games still thrive and sell well). Metaphor will keep you invested for 100 hours, so if you're a Persona fan, you won't be disappointed. By the way, if you like Atlus games (Persona, SMT, etc.), I'd highly suggest picking up the Collector's Edition, because Atlus made it specifically to celebrate their 35th Anniversary. Also, it was only made available to a few retailers, so this one is definitely going to be rare down the road.
Played on ps5 normal difficulty •breaking any barrels wont drop items 😢 •beautiful art direction and character design •one of the greatest menus in video gaming history •i dont love how every item, treasure chest, and enemy are on the map all the time, sort of completely removes the pizazz of discovery from the equation •we love a protagonist who isnt silent •the movement the protagonist does when trying to open a locked door is silly •i like killing enemies with one hit in the overworld •Hulkenberg 🥰😍🥵 •i love the loading screen •i do not particularly care for the music. Its a lot of native American style chanting in a language unknown to me. A lot of it blurs together when i listen to the whole album. If you like it thats fine its just not for me •i like how you can see your social skills improve, you can see the points on the crown get pointier with each advancement •lets compare the prologue of metaphor to xenoblade chronicles 3 briefly -i gain the ability to use a fantastical robot stand twice my size in combat and so do all my friends -can preform combo attacks with my stand and one of my friends stands -someone i meet in the prologue dies in the prologue- and then i have to fight them (mwabah %26 Grius) -Long eared woman with a welsh accent (nia %26 catherina) •i like the human designs its like if a dr seuss vehicle was reimagined by juntei ito or whatever their name is •official prediction at the 11 hour mark: louis is gonna be in the middle of stabbing the protagonist but at that same moment protagonist gets his face on the rock and the kings magick sheilds him. Or something to that effect
I know it's early, but Metaphor will most likely become one of my top 5 video games of all time, and I do not glaze. The Collector's edition is a pretty solid price considering you get the soundtrack and artbook (Steelbook too), which combined might be $50-90. These acrylic stands DO NOT come with the game. I will say, I believe the Japanese collector's edition comes with physical copies of the Atlus anniversary soundtrack and art book which is tough, but I'm definitely glad to get the cloth map. Thank you Sega, Atlus, and Walmart for letting this happen!! :D
A fun and robust RPG that will scratch that Atlus RPG itch. I'll be replaying it for years to come.
aside from the really great game, the contents included this collectors edition is well worth the price
Amazing game that came on time with all the goods. Looking forward to playing this!
GOTY 2024. Everything you love about persona but better.
Pretty nice, glad it was a legit seller and a lil under MSRP
Somehow the item got torn behind the plastic wrap
Game is great but Walmart charged me twice for the game
