I am a big Microsoft fan so of course I was going to love the Xbox one s it is very slick I love the controller has a great grip the picture is beautiful I love the new beautiful white console I will recommend this to anyone. I did get the 500 mb but I do have to buy another game drive storage because we will be downloading a lot of games music movies on it
Great system. I am very impressed with the graphics considering it has been out for several years. The updated Halo games look fantastic. The difference with the originals is pretty amazing. The smaller version fits very conveniently in my small entertainment stand, and runs very quietly. It is a little slow with disc access, since it has a HDD instead of a solid state drive. I hope the next version has at least a hybrid drive.
works great
You are better off with XBOX one. However, if you have a top-end 4K TV (I mean Top End with high-refresh rate) you can play games with HDR. Walmart gave a great deal on price. One S + Covert Controller + BluRay movie for 299 (plus tax)
Don't get this if you already have an Xbox One, unless you're dying to get the 4k BluRay suppor that this offers. However, this console is more than I asked for. I mainly purchased it for ease of use with my family, but I quickly found out that this will upscale games to 4k (not sure if all games are support). While this isn't a true 4k, it still looks awesome! I love the smaller more compact design, now I'm just looking forward to getting the Kinect, something that my wife and I will greatly enjoy!
Love the new slim design and not having a big power brick. Its layout and apps still make it the better choice for me over the PS4. With that said there is one complaint...DOWNLOAD TIME for games is beyond horrible. I have decent internet download and it took Black Ops 3 16 hours to download! ! Ps4 did it in a couple hours. If you get this don't plan on playing anything right away. I still like it but come on Microsoft! It shouldn't take this long for a game to download.
This review is for those who care the sound: I returnded a great Sony Blu-ray player and replaced it with a X1S. I can honestly say that I enjoy the sound from Blu-rays, CDs, regular dvd's much much better on the Xbox one s. Streaming music/movies sounds better too, it's super quite and the system never freezes or keep me waiting like the standalone did. The Sony embarrassed me in a few occasions. I read reviews were people complain about the Xbox one not having Dolby digital plus and dts-ma(I was one of them but don't tell anyone)But in my opinion, those formats can stay wherever they are. I feel like I was brainwashed and the uncompressed audio woke me up from the matrix. I have a 2.1 set up. I set the X to 2 ch uncompressed audio and let the receiver do the rest. My years of adjusting my sound is over. Oh btw, to get over DD+ and DTS, just switch the display on your receiver to Xbox one and you'll forget about it.
I bought this for my 8 year old son. It took almost a week for HALO to update. He was rather disappointed that he could not play his game right away.
I had received this product and plugged everything in and the console turned on, but the controller didn't. So I couldn't even synchronize the controller. I tried flipping the batteries provided thinking i put them in wrong, but that didn't work. So I used batteries I knew worked for sure, but the controller still didn't turn on. Finally I tried to connect it via USB cable. Still didn't turn on.
Xbox One S is nothing special and it doesn't work with WiFi 5GHz, it work best with 2.4GHz but this is 2016. Games download so slow on Xbox Live it's crazy. Microsoft ship me a broken controller, the sync button go stuck and i couldn't sync it on Windows 10. I think you should keep your Xbox One or wait for Xbox Scorpio
