We have a pretty open downstairs and this unit will cool the entire floor. It is very quiet. Every once in a while it can do some shaking and we can hear/feel it but it's nothing compared to a full window AC. It came with a bunch of extra drain plugs so the recall issue shouldn't be a problem. Installation took some time but the quietness is worth it. I'm sure it'll be quicker next summer. So far, very happy!
This is better than any old sliced bread. So quiet, easy to operate and even easier to install. Thank you so much for such an inovative product that actualy works.
This 10,000 btu ac cools very well %26 is very quiet....until the compressor comes on! At that point it sounds like a loud boom box in a car booming down the road or thunder booming! It even rattles the window it's in. I've contacted the company but no response in over a week. I purchased the extra warranty on it also. I hope it will be honored to my satisfaction as I also paid for installation %26 can't afford to be doing this too many times. I'm somewhat dissappointed as I looked at several units, then chose this one.
So quiet! Not a simple installation but not difficult. I did most myself ( 50 female ) and only had my hubby help lift it in, but I probably could’ve done that too, just not as smooth. LOL This is a game changer for us. We only have one window in our Living room so we always wait to put in the AC because we hate to lose the fresh air. This solves that problem and did I mention how quiet it is?! You literally cannot hear ANYTHING! Amazing
Got the AC unit within 3 days after I ordered it so I was happy about that, hooked up the bracket which didn't take long like other reviews say, I put the AC on the bracket and I'm not happy how it sits on it, it only has 2 small screws that attach to each other. It needs something extra on the outside part to fill the gap from the AC to the edge of the bracket “something you can reinforce your self”. So i finish hooking it up, cut the foam and go to plug it in and when the Compressor kicked on it made a type of noise like one of the copper tubes was hitting or shaking, not to loud but enough for me to take a harder look, and that's when I saw the big dent on the side right next to the compressor, I was too upset. I just took out my old unit and put this in🤬. I contacted Walmart to see if they would refund some of my money if I kept it they said I can either use my extended warranty to have it fixed or return it, I was really trying to get the discount but they would not honor it. I ended up returning it and it now I just re-ordered another one only because I'm a light sleeper and this is supposed to be the quietest one. It did feel like it cooled good enough so I am currently waiting on the second one. After reading some of these reviews it seems to be a common problem. The manufacturer either needs to have a better QC or a better way to package the item. I still feel like I need to be reimbursed for going through this whole situation from the manufacturer itself.
Good: High quality build and very quite. Innovative u-shape design and very streamlined. Cools room and removes humidity effectively and efficiently. Bad: Installation requires some thought and effort to ensure that the proper pitch is achieved so that water from the condensation drips outside instead of inside the house. Also, they only give you just enough widow sealing side arm foam so if you cut it too short you are stuck. Ugly: Even with the proper pitch water drips into the window well that eventually drains into the wall (ie, for those with the old style sliding aluminum framed storm windows). I eventually solved this problem using one of those catering tray lids you can buy at your local supermarket. I drilled some drain holes at the end of the lid and then sat the AC unit on top of the lid. The water now runs down the lid away from the house and drains through the drain holes. Conclusion: I really like this AC and would have given it a higher rating if it weren't for the water drainage problem. If you live in a humid area you may have to apply the same or similar solution to drain the condensation away from the window and house.
Splurged and got myself a very nicely reviewed unique window AC. Cools great, quiet inside, no hiccups using smart features…BUT THEN…I thought a helicopter was passing overhead nearby. Nope. It was my Midea 10k BTU U Shaped window AC. It's quiet, until it isn't. YES, I know what condensers sound like as they spool up. This was MUCH LOWER in frequency and I've confirmed others having similar low repeated bass feedback sounds when the unit spools up. Took a while to install bc I wanted to go nice and slow and make sure everything was done perfect and as instructed. Sad to see it go. Contacted Midea Customer Support stating, I know what normal sounds should encompass, this isn't normal. Neighbor came over and confirmed the odd sound as if my walls were vibrating but they weren't. Followed instructions to a T. Midea CS support started: “Hi ———— Thank you for your response. Although the video lacks sound, the unit itself should produce normal sounds in most cases. Have a wonderful day! These are NOT normal sounds. They are irritatingly loud and low frequency that it makes you feel like there's a train passing near your house every time it spools up. Or that your walls are going to vibrate everything off of them. I fully expected to get nowhere with customer service and I informed them it is a very low frequency and I do not have audio equipment to probably probably pick it up. So the customer support is no help. I may try some insulating foam in a couple places, but will be returning this unit, as that reverberating sound is agitating every single time it comes on. Borderline maddening.
spent a few hours getting this in the window perdect. waited overnight to turn it on in the morning. its louder then my 15 year old ac , it shook the wall when the compressor went on and off and the fan sounds like a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle. , a complete waste of time . returned it . i have no idea how this product passed any inspections.
After I took 5 hours to put in this bracket and install in window it, never cools the room above 78 degrees. It is quiet, but it runs ALL the time on Eco Mode or any mode. I have to set it to 80 degrees for it to shut off and on like it is supposed to do. I will be order another replacement one, I think I got a dud and after all the time it took for me to install this...argh
I looked for a very long time for the right air conditioner for my window with the right btu's and the correct plug in. I opened box to set up bracket. I needed to wait a few days for a friend to help me lift it in. I scooted it out of the box. The front grill was broken. I took it off and there were broken bits hanging and mangled inside. I plugged it in to see if it worked. I had already spent a full day putting up bracket! I was so disappointed! If i didn't already put up bracket and it was already 100° outside and i had already been without air, i would have sent it back. After friend left i looked at it again and the bottom was dented in and broken. To pay so much money and time this was a very bad experience!
