Love this AC... It was a bit confusing to put the base into the window, but after that it fit perfectly. The included weather stripping and foam blocks were great to keep the air from seaping out. It's extremely quiet too which is nice especially since its in a window next to the sofa. I especially love how the air comes out from the top because my ceiling fan helps the air to circulate throughout my downstairs. It was extremely easy to connect via WiFi and my Alexa and includes locks if you want to put them on the top so noone can lift the window and get in. Makes me feel more secure in my home knowing I don't have to worry about break-ins. I highly recommend this unit not only for the price, but for the ease of operation.
The install was a little more detailed than I thought it would be. takes a little extra brain power and sweat then traditional window units. my window was a little bit smaller than the size of the box showed. but I was able to take out my sash and reinstall. definitely a lot quieter and a lot less work to seal the window up since the opening is so small. tabs in the middle of the window that allow you to put your window down to hold the unit while you install it or removable when you are done the instructions do not tell you that. if your window is wider than the recommended distance do not fret. the stabilizer bars that slide out into the ends of the window can actually be screwed down into the bottom of the window frame to hold it in place. this is my second Midea window unit and did not disappoint as far as performance satisfaction. this unit is extremely quiet and blows very strong and cold. Also it goes down to 60° and is a better filter setup inside. I definitely recommed this u shaped unit.
Little tricky on the install but overall very quiet but keeps a large master room very cool. It's different because the window comes down in the middle of it. Lot of measuring and making it fit right. Great air conditioner though. Recommended to anyone.
This is the best AC that I have ever bought. The best you don't hear it you can shut the window all the way down. I love my AC I have a 14-74 mobile home and it cools the entire home.
I love with 4 other and I lile it so much cooler then they do. This is perfect to keep my room at a temperature that works for me. Have not seen any crazy increase in electricity use either. Hoping this will ring true when it really heats up. Unit comes with alot to install however I did purchase extra stuff to insure that they werent any openings. Love that the window closes into the unit keeping the security of the window intact.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Midea 12,000 BTU U-Shaped Air Conditioner is the best. We have had a 2 or 3 air conditioners in the past and this is the best so far. I love that it has smart controls and a flap to close when not in use. The air is very cold and the sound is very low since most of the air conditioner is outside of the window.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am writing this later then I wanted to because I hurt my hip and couldn't place air conditioner sooner but happy to review today. I love this quiet air conditioner. I have never seen one where you can open window after it is placed but with the bracket it makes it possible. It also has a remote and works with smartphones too. You won't be disappointed it works wonderfully.

Installation took about 2 hours even with the instructional video (it gives decent instructions but my particular window wasn't so simple, as it is a forward-lipped window, not a mid-line lip or perfectly flat panel.) Also the bracket seems to be the wrong size, the channels didn't sit properly on the bracket slots, and is now about 2 inches off to the right of the braces, granted it's holding strong and isn't in any threat of falling off. Due to this and the way my window is, I had to cut the foam and weather strips to size with slits for the channels made for the window itself. So after doing a little bit of following both ways to install, it finally sat flush in the channel. However the insulation is *on* the bracket, rather than behind it... So that's a low-point (most likely due to the bracket being uneven coupled with the window type. Furthermore, I also noticed underneath was a fair bit of open space even with the channels sitting flush against the machine. cutting excess bits of weather strip and window creasing filler worked perfectly for closing those gaps, and then using the extra thin foam slits to firmly lock them into place. I also cut 2 squares of the extra foam insert rectangles into 2inch long additions, which i then stuck underneath the machine outside to brace against the bracket because the bracket itself hung low on the side of the window, due to how it sat on the window panel itself (again, because of how the window is made). This helped to level the AC unit better in the window, and take a little pressure off the frame when it's running/vibrating. There's no vibration from the unit (but the wall vibrates a very little bit when it first kicks on.), it's quiet, running smoothly and is cooling the room nicely. Will update this as the season progresses. But I'm actually quite happy with the unit! it's doing wonderfully. if it wasn't for the issues with installing in this particular window type I'd have had a 5/5 rating for it just based on first impressions.
Item came damaged and/or not assembled properly. Major hassle to replace since I do not own a car and live on the third floor with no elevator... Walmart, manufacturer, and warranty provider all being a pain to get this resolved.
