I love it. Had a leaky shower issue in the basement, everything was damp, floor was wet, once we got everything off the floor and cleaned up we ran this bad boy and the entire basement was dry as a bone very fast. The app helped monitor it from upstairs. We had it pump the water out from the bucket into the shower drain so that was nice. Now we keep it running at a comfortable level to maintain the humidity down there and it's really nice. I love how I was able to order it and get the 15 minute delivery because I was in crisis mode over here and I was stressed and sweaty and it was late so it was so great that it just showed up at my door within 15 minutes <3

It is pretty loud and cranks out a lot of heat. The pump hose is supposed to be disconnected after emptying which makes the Bluetooth controls and self pumping function a bit useless.

Major design flaw Pay attention to the reviews that complain about this dehumidifier acting as a heater. There's a reason, connected with a design flaw: the fan runs all of the time, not just when the compressor is on. The reason after some experimentation: the humidity sensor seems to pick up humidity from the unit itself unless the fan is running and reads too high. Keeping the fan running is a workaround to keep fresh air flowing over the sensor. This causes a cascade of problems, which are worse the smaller the room the dehumidifier is in: - After the compressor cuts out, the coils are still wet, and that water is evaporated back into the room, raising the humidity - This causes the compressor to kick back in quickly. In a smaller space (even in a larger house) it is overpowered and quickly lowers the humidity - A reasonably large portion of that water ends up being put back into the room. Wash, rinse, repeat. It means that the compressor (which generates heat) is running a lot and not dehumidifying well, which makes the room uncomfortable. This isn't as much of a problem with units that don't run the fan constantly; the water on the coils has time to drip off, or at least evaporate more slowly (rather than being quickly evaporated but the fan). The positive reviews are from people who have this in a larger room, like an unfinished basement. If you have that kind of space it's a great unit. I have a smaller unfinished storage space (15'x15') and I experienced the heating problem... it was also using a ton of electricity. I was able to fix it using my home automation system through the "smart" features; I joined it to wifi, put a zigbee temp / humidity sensor on the other side of the room, set the dehumidifier to a low figure (40%) and turn the humidifier on and off based on the other sensor, with a minimum 15 minutes off. That has completely solved the issues and it's working perfectly now.

Works great while they work. Sometimes they do not last too long. Sometimes the pump quits working. Get the extended warranty in case it quits.

The pump did not work and instead filled up the bucket, and then the bucket overflowed onto the floor, continuously running. Returned to Walmart for a refund.
