After reading about the recall, and found out they were on sale, I rushed to get one after the heatwave. I simply removed the blue drain plug and left it open. Works great, slight jimmying to make it fit in a 40” wide window but it did. Quiet, cool, nicely done!
We were searching for a quiet a/c to replace our old Fridgaire a/c unit. After online research, we decided to buy a 8000BTU unit. We received 3 days after we ordered online. The installation was so easy and the unit was up running. What a quiet, powerful and energy efficient a/c! We connected thru Bluetooth and you can easily control the unit from anywhere. We were so satisfied to the point that we ended up buying a 12000btu unit. We are very happy with both of the units.
I love That I can open the window while the air conditioner is still in it. It is just about the quietest air conditioner for a window that I've ever heard. Extra great power and cooling.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, let's talk about install. This goes in nothing like your typical window unit, obviously. It's got a support that hangs out the back, and points to secure it to the frame. And your window can close over it, though not all the way obviously. There are dense foam blocks though that actually do seem to block outside noise. So anyway, install. It's different. The printed directions made no sense to me at all. They were skimpy and mostly pictures. Fortunately there's a video, with a qr code to take you to them. The video makes it easy. The only part I was left confused on was the center track piece. I wish that had gotten a close up. It took two people to install, and went fairly smooth. I don't know how long it took us, but it wasn't super long. And now that we've done it once I imagine we could do it again in minutes. So basically, watch the video. Can you actually open the window with this installed? Yes, yes you can. Ours is on the second floor and I feel quite comfortable opening my window. It feels very secure. Definitely an upgrade from our old unit. Form- it's pretty sleek looking, and you can turn off the display! I hate lights in my room so this is a huge bonus. Function: Yeah, definitely works. It cools my room in minutes, and will get it cold enough to satisfy even the hottest sleeper. Plus it takes care of humidity. My room is so comfortable now, and even the hall and bathroom and cooled. It's a little beast, and I haven't even tried lower temp settings on it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this amazing air conditioner yesterday, my husband installed in one of our living room windows super easy to install it took him about 20 minutes to do so. This thing can get a space nice and cool! We have a pretty large first floor space, we got the play room, the mud room, then the dining room, the living room and the kitchen plus the guest bathroom, he plugged it in and automatically I could feel the nice cool air, it has a temperature setting on where you want it set at, plus a remote control, you can also programmed it through your phone if you download the app, and the best thing is that is noise less!!!! Super quiet you won't even notice it. Is the BEST AIR CONDITIONING in the market you won't be disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this brand out for the first time and I love it. It's very nice and up to date. I love the looks. I have never seen a air conditioner that goes in a window the way this one does. It has a slot that your window goes down in after installing it and that leaves more room for you to look outside. Also after I installed it, I was surprised that my blinds went straight down behind the air conditioner. It also has a WiFi setting. I was amazed after trying this setting out to. You can adjust the air conditioner from away from your own home. You can set the temperature gauge before you get home and it will already be cool when you get home. This air conditioner is very very quiet. You can hardly tell you have it on when it's running. It cools your place very fast and keeps it feeling comfortable all the time. I would recommend this product to anyone that's looking for a great new uplifting look and feel. You will be very satisfied with this unit. It was easy to install also. Doesn't take long at all.
I was intimidated when I unboxed it, but a friend sent me a YouTube tutorial she found and lent me her drill, and before I could say this heat wave is killing me, I was lounging by the window in a pleasant 75 degree breeze that sounded the same as all the fans I'd been roasting under all last week. This is such an awesome design, and it looks nice in a prominent location in my little apartment. My window is slightly too wide for the included brackets, but I adapted using all the tons of foam and other extra installation materials they include and didn't have to purchase anything. It's a heavy unit so I recommend following their instructions for two people to actually place it on the installed support brackets. But I didn't have anyone to help, and I'm a woman and I managed the whole thing myself. I'm convinced the bad reviews are phonies from other window AC manufacturers who are afraid of disruption. This is the first time I've owned one, and I would never buy anything else. Hopefully they're working on future models for smaller windows, that's the only thing I think might make this not work.
This is the second Midea U-shaped window AC I've bought, and it's a quiet, effective unit with a decent, safe installation system. I'm a small person and able to handle the installation alone, though it was nice to have someone stronger lift the unit into my window. I have three criticisms 1) The foam system isn't very clean looking (few window ACs are any good at this) 2) One of the wedges that is meant to optionally block the window from opening doesn't fold in the whole way and it's extremely difficult to open the window because of this. I assume this is a quality control error but I don't know. 3) The AC BARELY fits in my window, due to anti-tip arms that are extended near the end of installation. My window has a sort of handle to make it easier to open and shut, and to clear this handle (which I don't think is an unusual window feature), the AC must be positioned so far forward that the anti-tip arms barely fit in the window frame channel.
The frame holding the the condenser coil has started to rust after one season of use. This part of the unit should not be rusting as it is meant be exposed to moisture from the drip pan as part of normal operation, not to mention it is exposed to the elements. This is the part of the unit that is on the outside and dissipates the heat created by normal operation. I was really happy with the unit until I noticed the rust. Not sure how long it will last now.
