One of the most innovative and well thought out designs. Very quiet. Having the compressor and evaporator components external and physically separated from the part that is in the house, makes it one of the quietest A/C I've ever installed. Does a great job cooling. The bracket that holds it is top notch. Great price. Comes with everything you need to secure and insulate.

Excellent A/C Unit. Super quiet. Be patient on the install and follow instructions, don't rush it. The window I installed it in was too close to roof to use the included drop down exterior wall brackets so I improvised and used EVA Foam Yoga Bricks (3 of them stacked/$7.48 each) from Walmart's fitness section to help support and level it properly. Worked great. Seriously considering buying another.

it is a very quiet unit 90% of the time make some little soft noises every once awhile but you can still hear your TV and you can talk on the telephone without leaving the room the cooling power is very good just a little problem with the thermostat if the outside temperature is about 60 degrees and the inside temperature about 74 degrees you may have to just the unit control panel to get the unit to come on lower the temperature are going to a different cooling mode setting it's been in operation for 8 days everything is going good been through a rainstorm for the last 3 days no water came through the window I took it out a extended warranty cuz this is a DC inverter this is new technology has been out on the market for at least 10 years or longer to the United States other form countries has switch to this technology about 20 years ago it is still very new in the United States what I mean and other countries their marketplaces you will see more DC inverter air conditioners in their stores then standard air conditioners

After reading about the recall, and found out they were on sale, I rushed to get one after the heatwave. I simply removed the blue drain plug and left it open. Works great, slight jimmying to make it fit in a 40” wide window but it did. Quiet, cool, nicely done!

After unboxing, I plugged the unit up to made sure it worked properly. I then replaced the electrical duplex. My old one was not tight. Watched a YouTube video to install, never opened instructions. Replaced a Haier 5100 BTU. My review after a few days of use: Pros: Excellent for light sleepers. No compressor noise. Nice to have access to window. Nice LED display. Cons: No significant difference in cooling vs the former unit. The Haier has a stronger blower motor. ***I suggest pay an extra 100 here and go with the 12K BTU or Amazon with $25 off coupon. That's assuming the 12K has a stronger blowing motor than the 8K.

The air conditioner was easy enough to install. I watched the YouTube video (video info is in the owners manual). The Wi-Fi connect button did not work for me on 2 separate wireless routers. I downloaded the phone App (barcode in user manual) which I used to scan the barcode on the Midea. This allowed me to pick the Wi-Fi connection and enter the password using my phone. This would be a nice option for the included remote, note to Midea. I can control the air conditioner with Google home, remote, or phone App. When looking for the barcode, I removed the front filter cover and I noticed damage on the cooling fins. The cooper cooling pipes the fins surround seem undamaged, so I am not returning it unless I notice any cooling issues. However, I am disappointed by the damage which had to happen prior to packaging the unit. Quality control should have discovered this and is the only reason for the 4 stars. This is actually a 5 start unit.

AC was terrific for 3 months. Barely heard it running. Like heaven. Then it started making a little noise but still nice and cold. In last two nights it started making a noise so loud I had to turn it off. Fortunately, good timing as an Arctic Blast is coming. About to find out how Midea warranty works for a 5 month old unit.

No no no no. I bought this AC at the same time I bought two used GE's. Stuck in my window with much excitement.! Thought maybe I'd get a little cool out of the but this, this was the holy grail. Ranked number one by wire cutter of the New York Times. I just knew I was going to be sleeping in a cool cave. Could not have been more disappointed. For all the hype, this thing does not cool! I'm taking it out of my window and bringing it back tomorrow. The used GE's out preformed this larger, highly rated model 10 fold.

I bought a similar AC unit from Amazon which delivered and installed without issues. I love the quietness and the fact it's U-shaped which is a great design. It also has an app to control and schedule it. This makes it convenient and modern. However this unit i bought from Walmart was dropped at the corner by the shipper. The box looks fishy with the top opened, side punched through and side of bottom box crushed. I wasted almost an hour getting the window setup and when I about to put the unit on the window found it was crushed.

Design flaw: mold is forming rapidly on top of the blue cartwheel and there's no way to reach it, that's why Midea actually doesn't authorize technicians to do that but at the same time they refer to the part of the warranty policy where it says that cleaning is your responsibility, except it is virtually impossible. If you look it up, there are dozens of threads on Reddit started about the same exact issue.
