I bought this to use while backcountry ski touring, so that I could prevent my radio device from freezing by keeping it in my backpack. The shoulder mic works very well in terms of usability with gloves on and volume. Great product that costs a fraction of what other ski specific radio products do.
Received this 2 or 3 days before it was supposed to be delivered. Plugged in my receivers and they were ready to hunt by 5 am! Thanks for prompt service Midland!
I bought these on a whim hoping they would be good for when we go hunting and off road exploring. I couldn't be more pleased with them. They remind me a lot of the ones I used while in the Marine Corps. They are not cheaply put together and take a beating well. Our first day out to off road and explore we scratched up our radio and dropped the handset all over the place. They held up real well taking them in and out of the cars as we stopped along the way to get pictures and explore on foot.
This Mic is great for my radio. Whether I'm out working in the field, or moving equipment around, this Mic really comes in handy. I like it being hands free, so I do not have to hold my radio when I am talking with someone, and it is very loud and clear.
Bought this as a replacement for my previous long time outdoor use charger. This is an exact unit replacement. I have had great charging and longevity with these units lasting many years. This unit doe not use a Battery so this explains the low Feature Rating. I will purchase this again if needed!
I purchased 4 Shoulder Speaker Mic, to use in a test at work in our Transit Bus Service Dept, the quality and clarity of the unit was loud and clear, when used in the proper manner. My co-workers and line supervisors were able to monitor and respond to our needs and operations. Much of our work required out of line of sight bus movements and placement, directing and coordinating bus pull ups and positions holding or delays as space became available. We were able to coordinate lane movements, that allow us to move lane control and flow in a fluid manner. We totally affected the work flow and behavior of everyone involved. Without the Midland radios and Shoulder speaker mic, work delays would cause backup or mis communication, which requires extra manpower to correct. I highly recommend this unit and combination, I would like to get radio holsters for my unit as extra protection from the elements and constant moving about, that's jumping into and out of 190 buses a night.
Helps with walking the dog. System says I should say more?
I bought this as part of trouble shooting for the 2 midland radios we own. They are not charging properly and I started with the base station. I'm including this because I won't know for sure it's on the station or the batteries until I get new batteries. The base station itself seems to work fine. The only thing about it was the plug that came with it didn't work at all. I swapped in the plug from the old base station and it worked again as it should have.
These are great chargers. They are lightweight, tough, and portable. I like just being able to drop the radio in the charger, especially when it's dark, rather than looking for the end of a chord, opening up the charge port and plugging in the tiny cable end. I believe these should come with every set of radios and not just the plug-in charger.
Should speaker mic is a great option for those like me who are getting older and need the speaker closer to one's ear. Plus I like not having to grab the radio itself to respond to a message. Some of our volunteer prescribed fire practitioners have commented that they find the mic speaker doesn't perform as well as the radio speaker. I haven't found this to be the case.
